Now you might be asking yourself;
What the fuck is this shit?
It's pretty simple, actually, from steam;
Rewrite history as you take control of the brutal Vikings, the devious Aztecs or the crafty Chinese in their global quest to win the favour of the Gods!
Swords & Soldiers is a side-scrolling strategy game that lets you control an entire army and lets you wield devastating magical abilities. Demolish your enemy’s castle at the end of these two-dimensional battlefields and lead your troops to victory!
Oh, so it's a strategy game?
Yes! And a fun one at that! With 3 races, each with their own nuances and play-style, the game can get pretty complex, even if it eventually might come down to who can make more units the fastest.
Now, races:
The Vikings are pretty straight forward, with overall good unit health, and being a little on the slower moving side, they make up for it with some of the best magic spells in the game, the majority of their mana regeneration comes from bought upgrades
The Chinese are a somewhat in-between race, they have some odd units, like a monkey who throws bombs at people then teleports behind them or a wizard who floats people into the air for about 5 seconds, killing them, and some very useful spells, the majority of their mana regeneration comes from buddha towers that you can place, which while faster at regeneration than the other two teams, means you have no defensive structures to place.
The Aztecs, the oddest race, they almost never have much health, or do an especially large amount of damage, but they are the fastest moving race in the game, with the exception of their Sun giants. They have an emphasis on poisoning people to do damage over time, and with a necromancer who can summon weak skeleton units out of corpses, you could rarely have to actually make troops at all, the majority of their mana regeneration comes from sacrificing troops, and you get mana back depending on the units level of health.
Game is steam play, it's $5 right now, it's super fun, you won't regret buying it, I promise you.
There's multiplayer between two people, and when you do the single player campaigns, you unlock mini-games that each have leaderboards.
And thanks to Druhim for pointing this game out in the steam thread and asking people to give it a shot.

all three races are really balanced in that one can trump another but IS trumped by another, and yet you can still win if you're playing rock and they're playing paper
it feels like simply sidescrolling starcraft and it's great
