A throwback to earlier games in the series, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit allows players to experience the thrill of the chase from either the perspective of a racer or the police, with police cars constantly chasing racers. Set along 100 miles of road situated in fictional Seacrest County, the gameworld of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is fully open-world, meaning that players can go wherever they want and race or chase whomever they want to. Players have access to a career mode regardless of which side they are on, and police and racers both have access to differing power-ups to give them an extra edge in a pinch. Cars available in-game are realistic replicas the pantheon of high-performance vehicles available in real-life, with cops and racers having equal access to most cars featured, but some being exclusive to either side. Additional features include: Autolog, which allows players to communicate and compare stats via a social media type network, 1-8 player online game support and multiple play modes.
Let's all be friends and race and crash and be awesome because this game is more fun if you have more people you know playing it. PM me your ID of choice and I'll add it to the list.

I got this for the PS3 just because it was 20 bucks off compared to the 360 version when I got it.
But goddamn it's so good I may end up getting it for the 360 as well.

I got this for Christmas for PC! NFS Shift was a good racer so I'm looking forward to playing. I just have to fit it in around Starcraft II, Assassins Creed II, and Modern Warfare 2.
My older brother and I had some great times with the original on the PSX.
This game is ridiculously fun. Playing as the cops is basically the best of Burnout's "wreck other people's shit" vibe and playing as the bad guys, with a bunch of cops chasing you, is downright thrilling.

I have the 360 version, though I don't know how well multi works cause I'm on shit internet right now.
Gamertag is Freakish Light if anybody wants to compare speedwall times.
turns out my Credit Card is maxed out for some reason, also my bank decided they would auto-debit my account for my car insurance, so now I'm $83 in the hole there, THANKS TD FUCK YOU GUYS!
Stale you shouldn't ruin your finances to do it but otherwise SO DO IT.
I'm not digging the police preview events, as far as I'm concerned running into stuff is half of the fun. I don't want to get dinged two or three seconds for everything I hit, that's lame.
Gonna go ahead and vote Helicopter for most useless weapon.
Yup thanks for that spike strip in the perfect center of the road, oh what's that? That was supposed to hit the racers and not me? Oh nice work officers

I found it useful against the AI, but yeah any online thing makes it a lot more likely that you or one of your cop pals is gonna hit that thing more than any racer.
Helicopters definitely stink but I love when they give me spike strips and I'm chasing a guy. It's like thanks guys, these do me a lot of good when I'm always behind him.
Also, that first interceptor mission where the guy starts doing u turns can eat a dick, I was not expecting that.
Also, the preview race where you're driving the Veyron through the redwood forest is absolutely gorgeous, I was blown away.

At least in the Racers' Time Trials you don't get dinged for collisions.
Please beat me so I can beat you.

Between this and all the Steam sales I'm starting to think I have a problem.
IN THE MEANTIME THOUGH I'm pretty sure I'm JCofDI on both systems.

Yeah helicopter is never successful.
I also love when the racers are in the spiral sections of that one course, and there's a 20 foot long tunnel in one.
"Suspect went into a tunnel, we're gonna try and get him on the other side"
Yeah in the time it took you guys to say that we are miles upon miles away

I haven't gotten far enough in the 360 version to have helicopters and when I'm in multi I ain't payin' attention to voice-overs.

Like when you wreck a guy and he goes flying into the adjacent field, or off a cliff.
