Changing an OS from Free-DOS

So I was given a netbook from my Indian relatives. The problem is that it's running FreeDOS which I have no idea how to use. I want to switch the operating system to Jolicloud but I don't really have an idea how to do so. The netbook has no CD drive and I'm not sure what the commands for USB keys are (or any commands for that for that matter). I put Jolicloud on an USB key and connected the USB key to the netbook but I have no idea how to access it.

EDIT: I got it working now with the Jolicloud USB creator.

Usually you'll just need to hop into the BIOS and set it (the USB drive) as the first boot device. And, of course, make sure that the USB drive is formatted to be bootable.
