Mathematical Size Conversion

I'm working on a design project on Adobe Illustrator, but it exceedes the size limit that I can create a piece in. This in itself is not an issue as I can tell the print supplier to blow it up to XX%. However, I have no idea how to calculate the % that I'm supposed to increase it to.

The final piece must be 19 feet wide, and I'm designing it to 19 inches. What % should I print it to get the full size? If you can explain the logic behind this so I can do it myself in the future I will be eternally thankful! I'm terrible at understanding math... who knew that you had to do so much math in graphic design!

    19 feet relates to 19 inches like x% to 100%

    so:

    19 feet/ 19 inches = x/100

    as one foot is 12 inches, you get

    19*12 inches / 19 inches = x/100

    multiply both sides of the equation with 100

    19*12*100 / 19 = x

    x = 1200. So you'd need it blown to 1200%

    In this specific case an easier way would have been to say that 1 inch in your design should be one foot in the result, so the project has to be made 12 times as big. That's also 1200%.
