I've reached a point in the campaign I'm DMing that would be perfect for a minigame, I'm just not sure what to incorporate exactly. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to continue reading the details of the campaign.
My players are raiding a monastery to take control of the legions of undead that swarm below (they're evil). They chased the main evil dude (Zanne) up to the topmost portion of the belltower, where he was killed rather gloriously (he climbed the bell to get distance, but a player's Githyanki warlock teleported another player's barbarian into Zanne, effectively crushing him).
From all this, the belltower is collapsing and the bell itself is crashing to the floor - with the players on the scaffolding 10 feet under the bell, along the perimeter.
As it stands, the barbarian is at 5 hp, and the ranger (who is 2nd-closest to the bell) is at 1 hp. The 3 other characters are relatively safer, being at about half-health and on the first (lower) section of scaffolding. That being said, the minigame I had in mind was a sort of race for cover, to avoid taking either falling or belltower damage. I'm not sure how to incorporate that exactly, though. The other thing is I want to be able to reward creativity, such as the barbarian using the dead Zanne like this:
So there are a lot of things I'd like my players to be able to do, but I'm not sure exactly how I want them set up. I don't think a straight initiative roll followed by a turn-based 'encounter' with the falling objects would be that interesting, but I'm at a loss for ideas.
It would also be really cool if the ranger and barbarian died, because not only would I find that hilarious, but the other characters would try and turn them into some sort of mindless, undead creature. I would like that to happen.
Thanks in advance for any/all responses!

Are there any flying undead around? Maybe with the death of the main evil dude, some gargoyles activate and start divebombing them, giving a chance to grab on and ride them to (relative) safety. If there's a wizard or cleric nearby they could maybe try arcana to wrest control over a gargoyle and send it to them. You could have checks to not only dominate a gargoyle but to let them dodge falling debris to get to the barbarian and ranger.
Maybe the evil dude has a shiny bauble one of them notices that summons a bound dracolich that bursts out of a nearby crypt and comes speeding to catch them as they fall, provided the rest of the party can keep [hurdles] from stopping/slowing the dracolich.
And if everything else fails, maybe they don't fall to their death, but land on several gelatinous cubes (and are then slowly dissolved).
