The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask voted Game of the Decade by GameFaqs

This is little bit old news but I can't see it mentioned anywhere here.

GameFaqs had a vote on what was the video game of the decade (2000-2009) and well, "Majora's Mask" was the winner.

Well yeah it is one of the best Zelda games. It had a well developed story, side-quests that were interesting and made up for only having 4 dungeons (plus the spider houses and moon mini-dungeons) and probably the most challenging game in the series.

Polls on GameFaqs are the last thing to give any amount of credit to.

With regard to having an impact on the industry, there are many, many titles that are more deserving of this, and that's after I set aside my disliking of Majora's Mask.

Eh, no credit to that site/community, but there are a couple of relative stinkers that made their way through the voting. I must say I was baffled by FFX and Fallout 3 getting so far for example. Deus Ex should have gone further.

I shall lose no sleep over this, however.

Gamefaqs polls don't mean shit. The winners are (almost) always Zelda or Square related.

That strikes me as a considerably odd choice for "game of the decade."

I mean, as great as Majora's Mask is I think that both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are leauges better. Even then, they have to compete with the likes of HalfLife 2, Deus Ex, Super Mario Galaxy, etc.

Well at least none of the FF noobs got what they want.

At least a descent game like MM won. Sure it wouldn't matter what might've won but if anything like Final Fantasy did, a lot of forums would have douches whining at how good it is.

I would not be fuckin' surprised if those "haunted" MM cartridge videos helped. Majora's Mask wasn't bad but it was still pretty much the same damn game the rest have been. Actual game of the decade? Going by the general impact it's had, probably World of Warcraft.

Well it was released in '98.

I mean yes Ocarina was an awsome game like Majora but its just overhyped by fanboys.

They should add a disclaimer on the front of it "Once played, all later games will feel unappreciated".

Hey man, give GameFaq poll participants some credit. In one of their silly character battle things, the L-Shaped Tetromino won once, instead of perennial favorites like Link or Cloud or whatever.

That's gotta count for something. I think. Maybe.
