Please take note: If you believe another user is trolling and you post things like "that guy is totally just trolling" "shut the fuck up troll" "try harder" or "ignore him, he's totally a troll" or any words to that effect, you are the one that is causing a problem, not the "troll" and you will be treated as such. If you have an opinion on another user, you can use the report function to tell us about them. Try not to phrase your reports as an order. Once you've reported it, shut the fuck up. No one needs to hear about it in the thread. If you've had your report button removed, it was for a reason and you no longer get a say in what does and does not constitute acceptable behaviour.

If a user genuinely is trying to elicit angry reactions, reacting to them with angry insults is so absurdly fucking stupid that I can't believe we're still having this conversation 10 years after these boards went up.

Also note: Disagreeing with you/not liking something you like/having right wing views in this glorious liberal echo chamber are not trolling, and if you report them as such the only result will be that we make fun of you in the infractions forum and think you're a pussy.

As an addendum, stop sending in reports saying, "Well, I think everything has been said on this topic, time to close the thread." That is not how the forum works, and we sure as hell aren't going to close an otherwise functional thread because Mr. Snowflake thinks his opinions on worthy threads matters fuck-all to the mod staff.

Threads are closed if they are unable to support a discussion in a civil manner, or when they are incapable of staying on topic. Not because someone can't think of anything new and clever to say.
