So, originally I thought I may get the best sale if I sold the entire thing as one lot, but as the size of the entire batch grew, I think I should prune it down to specific consoles/groups.

Questions:

1) Should I or shouldn't I sell these in one complete lot, or in console-specific lots (i.e. Xbox 360 & Xbox & Xbox-Backwards Compatible, PS3 & PS2 & PS1, etc.).

2) In regards to the Dreamcast games, this is my entire collection short of two other DC games (Jet Grind Radio and Bangai-O). Seeing as how that isn't very many games left, would it produce a greater sale price by throwing in those two games and the very good-condition Dreamcast and accessories I have?

3) Is there anything in this collection that I absolutely should sell by itself due to rarity, or that I need to be told to "Keep it, keep it at any cost!!!"

Thanks for the help everybody.

When I did a similar sell-off, I went through the collection one afternoon and checked if a game sold for more than $5. If it did, I sold it on its own. If it generally didn't sell on its own, though, or for a dollar or two, I bundled it with the system I was selling.

So the older games that went for 10, 15, and so on — the ones everyone says "split it up and sell individually" for — those get sold by themselves. The rest get bundled with the system, if you have one to sell, and that works very well (it differentiates your unit from the rest, and implies that it's owned by a person instead of a pawn shop).

What Eggy said. Do a "Completed Items" search on eBay to get an idea.

The stuff that doesn't look like it's going to go for much, yard sale it or Craigslist in bundles.

Lunar on the Playstation goes for quite a bit on Ebay, especially if it has everything (box, manual, extras). You could probably get about $100 for it.

Before you bother with ebay, put up a free posting on Kijiji or Craigslist and see what happens. I was able to sell 90% of my entire games collection a couple years ago bit by bit over the course of a month. The good part is that you're dealing with face-to-face buyers paying cash.

One time, a guy showed up to buy a game for his son. $15. He asked if I had change for a $50. I did not. He then proceeded to buy $35 more from what I had left.

Offer a "discount" if they buy a few games at once to get things moving quicker.

I've done this several times and it always helps move things. Like "Buy two get one free" or "Buy two $10 games for $15". They will fly out the door.
