Edit: After watching the full trailer...it's kind of sort of like Gone in 60 seconds (guy who goes straight gets pulled back in to crime to bail out family member). Eh.
I figured Dream House would suck when they gave away everything in the first trailer. Which is sad because it seemed like it might have a good premise and I love Craig and Weiss. It is currently sitting pretty at 0% on RT also, which is always nice to see.

I swear they have the same shot from Scarlet Johanssen in that trailer where she whips her hair back while crouching, like two seperate times. Its how you can tell its a Whedon movie.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Bow Guy looks stupid and underwhelming compared to the rest of them. Why is he even in the movie?
Also, who's the villain?
Villain is Loki. Bow guy is Hawkeye is fucking awesome so if they do him right he is on par with Black Widow and can hold his own with the rest of the avengers.
You know who should be the villain? Thanos. Because he's more or less the only good Marvel villain and I could buy him kicking ass and taking names.
Isn't Thanos a big Darksied ripoff?
The crucial distinction is that Darkseid is literally a god who wants to enslave the entire universe, while Thanos is an insane alien who wants to murder the entire universe.
Why is Loki the villain of Avengers and not, say, Thor 2?
Because Loki was the entire reason the Avengers originally formed in the comics and was their first adversary.
Well, see, I didn't know that and now it makes sense.
Still, I've never been able to take Loki seriously as a villain. He's a trickster god. What's he gonna do in a fight, pull the "oh hey look behind you" maneuver?

Trickster god mostly in the actual mythology sense I guess? I believe in the comics he has always been a schemer. A schemer who happens to be a god with magical illusion powers who can take a long view.
I'd prefer to see a really good Dr. Doom, but then, this is the Avengers.

Also, Thanos has the worst weakness in comics history.
Thanos also flies around in a helicoptor with "Thanos" written on it.
Well, sure, if you actually reference the comics themselves and not vaguely nostalgic memories of them, all super hero comic books are worse than malaria.
Spidey Super Stories was written specifically for eight year olds, man
As are all super hero comics.
Yeah, I can't wait for my eight year old to read Identity Crisis.
I really want my first sex ed conversation with my kid to be about Dr. Light raping Sue Dibney. Really kid friendly, that.

A friend of mine who loves the books is reaaaaaaally pissed after seeing this trailer.
My mom too loves the books, I'll have to show her. Actually, interestingly enough, they filmed some of it in my small, shitty town. When we found out what film it was for my mom got super excited.

The reports of Poe's drunkeness and erratic behavior were greatly exaggerated. He actually changed his name after this incident and lived out his life as a police detective in New York. Faked his death too.
Isn't that common knowledge?
Seriously though Cusac as poe?

I'm still pouty that they replaced Ed Norton as Banner.
Also I thought I heard that early plot speculation that the early plot predictions said Loki using the Cosmic cube will attract both the Skrull and Thanos' attention. Mostly because of the Movie Prop Infinity Gauntlet showing up at comic con and in the background of the Asguard weapon vault in Thor. Thanos is pretty much a given in the Avengers film I think. If I had to guess the scenes with the streets exploding is the start of the invasion.

Hawk Eye is awesome, and the villain is Loki/marvel fans.

The villian is loki + the skrulls. Pretty awesome that they have been setting this up for a few movies.
Isn't Thanos considered to be a big Darksied knockoff?
Because Loki was the entire reason the Avengers originally formed in the comics and was their first adversary.
one reason is probably that Loki was the reason the Avengers got together to begin with back in 1963
another reason is that he's already been introduced in one movie so you don't have to give him half the movie to explain his motivations
the last reason is that Thor has to fight Surtur in Thor 2 because I want that to happen

His kryptonite?
Only in Spider Super Stories, unfortunately.

Same crap with Doom in the Secret Wars. Ugh.
