[RESOLUTIONS 2011] Post On Saturdays

And here are the last two.
And here they are; a little late I'm afraid and a somewhat meagre offering, but at least it's something:
Should be back on form for next week...
Going to step away from digital drawing a bit and do some much needed life drawing. Every time I visit this thread my mouth goes agape. Got to be vigilant and experiment more.

This is from my friends compewter, watching East Bound and Down. Funny show.
Drawing from life.
My M9, and tether/holster/magazine and a few rounds.
continuing to draw from life. i was maybe 15-20 minutes in when he drove off, so I just scribbled it in and called it a night. Will keep doing this. Very challenging
Continuing to draw from life. Had to wait at the laundromat for my laundry. This is the view sitting on the tin steps outside the door, smoking mah pipe.
As it turns out I'm terrible at drawing circles, they're either too big, too small, or lopsided. X( those tires are tiny as balls. Reminds me of charlie brown's motorcycle race.
So I got my pens this week. This is me playing with them yesterday waiting for my laundry to get done.
I scanned this second one twice, the darks look better, but the white looks too dark.
This one is the favorite of the 2 scans, so I'll spoiler the second one.
this week I switched to digital because my scanner broke. Started out discouraged, but as the week went on, I got a little more comfortably with the tablet.
So I'm going to be a little bit more ambitious next week.

Ehhh... Yeah
Will put more pictures in my thread right away!
Update for January! This isn't all, but a good chunk of it.
I colored the megaman I doodled back in December:
And here's my monthly splash-page! Every day I draw something to add to it - usually there's a theme. As January's theme, I chose webcomics...but I don't read a whole lot of them, so it turned into television characters. I know it's not much, but a lot of the time these turn into [really] mini warm-ups for drawing.
And a list of all the characters - webcomics they're from:
2. Tycho - Penny Arcade
3. Rittz - Boxer Hockey
4. Toad - Almost Pets
5. Fletcher - Antics
6. Cardboard Tube Samurai - Penny Arcade
7. Muscleman - Double Fine Action Comics
8. Rose - Homestuck
9. Montgomery - Almost Pets
10. Skip - Boxer Hockey
11. Catsby - Penny Arcade
12. Knight - Double Fine Action Comics
13. Twisp - Penny Arcade
14. Jade - Homestuck
15. Fitzgerald - Almost Pets
16. Charlie - Boxer Hockey
17. Rad Chick - Next Town Over
18. Butters - South Park
19. Kyle - South Park
20. Cartman - South Park
21. Stan - South Park
22. Dave - Homestuck
23. Ike - South Park
24. Bubbles - PowerPuff Girls
25. Buttercup - PowerPuff Girls
26. Blossom - PowerPuff Girls
27. Copernicus - Antics
28. Aerith - VG Cats
29. Cloud - VG Cats
30. Kenny - South Park
31. Gabe - Penny Arcade
February will be Pokemon!
@melting_doll - I like your post, especially Rogue.
Also, your splash page idea sounds like a ton of fun and I plan to steal it.
My 7 for this week:
Next week; hopefully some actually not awful looking character designs for chapter 1.

So happy you were able to start uploading
Just working from images using the Ink Dropper for colors. More concerned about getting the right negative and positive space as well as making the images recognizable, at least from afar. Colors can be very hard to capture, I'm slowly seeing.
As you can Probably tell, I was a little frustrated with the tablet. Reverted back to a scratchy inky style in the last one. I'm a little sick of the studies, but I do feel the payoff. Constructing the figures is getting easier.
This Week I'm gonna experiment with color instead of just working with values.
Great Job everyone. Only 11 months to go :^:.
Anyhow this week I just sketched up some concept art for the major characters;
Hmm, are these too big? Give me a shout and I can shrink them down...
Good news is that it wasn't a heart attack, but the bad news is that it was gallstones, so it looks like I'm going under the knife in a couple of weeks here. Hopefully, that will open up more time for sketching.
As you may remember from last time, our hero was stuck in the back of an armored car, surrounded by crazies, with his eyes fixed on a crowbar.
Here's what happened next:
February 6th
February 7th
February 8th
February 9th
February 10th
February 11th
We'll break there for the week, with him having attracted the attention of a horde of [strike]stick figures[/strike] monsters.
Meanwhile, our steampunk heroine is saving someone from a pile of rubble.
February 12th
Next Week: more stuff.
