this is an extremely summarized version of my problem. the long version would take you a week to read:
my Fujitsu tablet was serviced at an authorized service center for a strange noise it was making (the same noise a lot of people experienced with the Macbook and Macbook Pros). they couldn't fix it and the unit was returned to me but the tech had neglected to hook the Wifi card back up. I sent it to Fujitsu and they assured me that the problem was resolved and my wifi card was fixed. when my computer returned it was missing parts (the blank PCMCIA card... not a big deal but still!), the problem I sent it in for originally was even worse and now my bluetooth module has gone missing (I used it right before I sent it in and now windows can't find it anywhere and claims it doesn't exist). this will be my third service - is there any legal standing for me to demand a completely new machine? does anyone know if I have any kind of consumer rights? if they don't fix this, who can I complain to? I've lost 2 week of productivity and it's about to be 3 and I've driven this thing all over the place to ship it or have it repaired.
I bought the machine through Newegg and they claim its the manufacturers responsibility. well, the manufacturer is being a wanker. I just started school this semester and not having my computer is pretty much killing me.
Contact an office of the Better Business Bureau in your state and ask them what lemon laws cover this situation. Depending on where you live, Fujitsu might be obligated to replace the machine. The BBB may even be willing/able to help you resolve the problem. Also, your state/city/county may have a consumer affairs board that can help.
