Getting an HD webcam: hesitating between Logitech and Microsoft

Hey,

So I decided to buy myself a webcam, mainly to be used with skype or windows live messenger, and I'm hesitating between two models:
The Microsoft H5D-00001 LifeCam Cinema

The Logitech Pro 9000

From the videos I've seen, it seems the LifeCam performs better except in low light conditions, where the image is overexposed. The main thing that worries me is that most of the reviews mention a high pitched noise that the LifeCam emits whenever your record. Now I thankfully can't hear it, but the main person I'd be talking to with this is a musician, so chances are she won't enjoy hearing that sound. All the info I've seen on the subject is a bit dated, and there was hope that this would be fixed in the future.

So, anyone got the LifeCam? Was the high pitch whine ever fixed? When it was launched, you couldn't capture 720p in 30 fps without a quadcore. Has this been fixed as well? Any recommendations from people who have used both cams?

I use the Logitech C910 and I've been very pleased with it. Good picture quality, I've used it both with the lights on and off and in both cases it captured a presentable video.

Haven't used the microsoft ones, so I don't know how they compare, but if a friend asked me for a suggestion I'd be hard pressed to offer something than Logitech.

Yeah, that would have been my clear number one choice if not for the price tag, which is 110$ at most places in Canada. I was looking for something more in the 60-70$ range, and these two are the best (at least, I think they are, based on my research) at that price point.
