Platypus - Claymation Shmup

Nintendo isn't the only one that can release retro shooters. Popcap put up a demo of their new shooter, Platypus, today (I didn't see it up there yesterday at work anyhow). I'm not sure how long the demo lasts, but I was able to play through all 4 levels with 5 areas each.

Multiple weapon types, multiple enemy types, multiple difficulty levels, and it's all done in a claymation style.

    Quite fun actually.

Game is a sixty minute trial, once it runs out, it won't let you play anymore.

This really makes me yearn for Shmups of old.

It makes me yearn for the time that Popcap made the free online versions of their games before they made the downloadable versions of them. I can see why, though, I suppose there was less money in offering the free stuff first.

I know what you mean, we just need more skilled, generous, charitable programmers and artists to band together to create free games for the masses :)
