Honestly to get people to shut up about the combat being oh god the worst thing ever bioware to become popcap games casual market 2011 the best way would be to put something into their hands.
Not that it will actually stop anyone but hey free gameplay.
Awakening was alright, but I don't think it deserves any awards. As a whole, the Dragon Age DLC has been fucking horrendous.
I actually liked Awakenings more than the main game at points. Though it had also its annoying parts. Anyway, I don't think "horrendous" is an accurate description of the Dragon Age DLC. Leliana's Song and Stone Prisoner (which gave us Shale) were pretty alright.

Also it didn't won the award.
Dragon age drove me away from DLC completely. I found refusing to even think about preorder bonuses or things I could buy enhanced my experience with MA2 so greatly that DLC/bonusless is the only way I can imagine playing now.
... Awakening was just good enough. expensive though.

You hate DLC so much that refusing to even think about it makes you enjoy games more?
I started playing Awakening again, reminded why of things I like and things I don't like about this genre.
All the cool armor, they actually added cool looking stuff, and you actually get it without having to search some really boring dungeon for 14 hours.
Too bad the combat is still incredibly boring, I am playing a rogue and I feel useless. Trying to kill a dragon it pointless, I don't think it will happen with a rogue, Ohgren and Justice. Also why the fuck does everyone have so many similar abilities? This is atrocious, my rogue has about 6 debuffs that all have similar effects. My warriors has about 12 stances and all sorts of damage abilities that I won't let him use. Oghren gets a couple attacks that are useful but for the most part he is flooded with abilities that aren't so great. So many abilities and he still mostly just auto attacks for damage, same with the rogue.
Auto attacking is not fun, neither is chasing enemies with this clunky movement system.
I mean, in the real world it was completely fine but you know, 'rargleblargle worst ever' and so on.
Not horrible actually. Just very weird. I actually like these trailers to be honest. Bioware Dragon Age trailers are the only ones I remember. It's still pretty awful though

Awakening, I think, is a better story with better characters than Origins, more complex and less cliched, but Origins told its story and developed its characters better. Also, Awakening clearly had less time in the shop, because its bugs are more flagrant and game-breaking.
I don't mind the ridiculously powerful abilities and equipment, because at the end of the last game you were powerful enough to beat, effectively, a god in personal combat. That you can actually get stronger after that is kind of ridiculous, but if it happens, then what you get should be equally ridiculous--and it is.
Just for one example, my tank main character, while wearing the Sentinel Armor Set, was tackled by an adult childer with Overwhelm, one of the most broken enemy abilities in the game (and one of two things that make Dog actually useful in the endgame in Origins). The damage taken was as follows: 0,0,1,0,1,1,0,0,0...and so on until the end of the ability. I think if you factor in-combat regeneration, the actual effect was null.

I have no idea what to think after watching that Facebook game trailer.

I was going to tubedubber in some new shit to see if that would be more offensive to you, but tubedubber doesn't seem to want to load anything for me. So instead of getting that joke, you get this post describing that joke. It probably would've been pretty funny. Imagine how funny it would've been.
Though it's only a temporary exclusivity for them. They get it on the 11th of February, everyone else will see the demo the 23rd. So there's some good news for those looking forward to it!
That said you guys don't even want to think about the Bioware forums right now.
This dragon battle in Awakening if fucking idiotic to play, 3 melees in my party and a healer. Have fun playing your rogue, getting knocked down or eaten for more than you can control your character.
To be fair, they didn't hype this. There was that card that came with Awakening that said "2.1.2011" and then there was that demo leak. People put two and two together and ended up being wrong. That was probably an original planned release date or something that they didn't make.
But since there was that demo leak, everyone got all excited and posted all over about it. So we all really did this to ourselves.

Trailers and trailer hate always amuse me. People hated the New Shit trailer so much that I loved it because it generated so much discourse. It was a literal hate machine that I could use to turn a normal conversation into a frothing thread of doom.
ME2 release trailer is still my favorite trailer of all time though. It was actually really well done with a whole epic vibe going on. The Devil May Cry 3 trailer would probably be a close second. Something about using a bike as numchucks appeals to me.

At that point in the game, High Dragons are pretty sad. I was level 28 and I kicked its ass.

What...a PC demo...but I thought Bioware wasn't going to release it for PC because then people would know how horrible the game is.
That being said, bummed I won't get to play it until the 23rd myself. But at least I'll have impressions and MvC3 to play around with.

Wouldn't rule out one more falling onto the pile.

Walk forward. Talk. END.
I kid, I kid. Chances are it'll just demonstrate the dialogue scheme and battle mechanics. Most likely showing the beginning of the game.

All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
That's right, there is a demo, for PC!
