I really like the class additions Awakening had(well at least for Warrior...the specs for the other classes ranged from okay to meh as far as I can remember).
I hope they kept them for DA2.
They've only revealed 3 advanced classes for the Rogue so far, and two of them are completely new. Not to mention companions now get their own unique advanced classes.
Oh cool. Is there a link to this? I would like to see it.
The more I see of Dragon Age 2, the less I like. A lot of people are saying the graphics have taken a huge step backwards in order to be able to fit more enemies on screen.
Shoot, I just decided to try playing DA1 for a few minutes and it looks like Witch Hunt has been updated to version 1.1? And there's no patch? I have to download the entire thing again? Or am I wrong?
Good luck to you if you want to find a more recent one showcasing Darkspawn character models. There's bugger all out there. Which is odd, considering the game is just over a month from release.

I have tons of DAO screenshots, but I'm not sure what they would help.
DA2's art looks pretty different than DAO. I'm fairly certain it's completely accidental, but we'll have to wait for the devs to comment.

I know what the thread title says, but: Darkspawn Chronicles.
I seem to have encountered the bug where you can't unlock the Ogre's Keeper achievement. (Right ogre, kept him alive from the start to the end, etc.) It's the very last achievement I have to unlock. I've searched Google but the only fix I've found would require restarting, and even then it seems to be hit or miss. (The idea is that you don't let the ogre's approval get to maximum. For some reason.)
Speaking as someone who has spent the past week replaying Dragon Age 1 with every setting on max: that game is fucking hideous.
I'm still not sold on what they're doing for 2 - primarily because they haven't shown anything tangible yet - but it does look like an upgrade, at least.

When you are separated from the Ogre, and use the switch on the upper level to open the gate, are you certain you are reclaiming the correct Ogre? The is a very misleadingly named second Ogre in that area of the module, you want the one that comes up the stairs from behind the gate - he respawns if the Ogre dies, but any respawned Ogre does not count for the trophy.

Yes, I've done that. In fact, I have a save at that point and I've simply tried enthralling one of the two Ogres and taking it to the end, and then reloading it and recruiting the other one.
The point that I forgot to make in my original post is that after I complete the DLC, I don't get the popup saying I have the achievement, but when I look at my profile, it's there. Then, after I leave the game, when I start it up again it's not highlighted anymore.

Finally finished Awakening for the first time last night. Liked the journey, even if the entire thing was fairly easy. I'm pretty sure I didn't have a single wipe and restart throughout the whole thing.
Decided to save Amaranthine and leave my fully upgraded Vigil's Keep to the hordes. Left Justice, Nathaniel, and Anders behind and was glad to see that they made it out okay (well except for Justice, but he was dead to begin with, so no big deal).
The Mother fight did seem particularly tricky at first, but after finally realizing to move my mage from the anti-magic glyph and adopt the strategy I used for the Broodmother fight, it was all cake. Beat it in my first attempt.
Seemed like there was two bugged spots during the epilogues. The first was the epilogue reporting that the villagers kept revolting after the riot's supposed success, even though I talked them down. The other was about how my Warden left off to be with Alistair, even though I had him sacrifice himself at the end of Origins.
Starting GoA now, it was an interesting change to finish up Awakening and then proceed to wipe at the first fight there.

I know we're not supposed to talk DLC, but I'm not having a bitchfest.
The DLC is on sale this week on XBL and I don't have ANY of it. I beat DA:O in like, October, and was fully satisfied with the story and don't plan on replaying the game. Is there any DLC that is absolutely worth the price of admission for?

It's not really an ACTUAL ban on that conversation, at least not the portion you're talking about. We just need to try and stay away from doing one of those annoying day-one/pre-order DLC discussions, or at least stay cool. People sometimes get all fussy in regards to those things.
As far as Origins DLC, I liked Warden's Keep and Ostagar was pretty fun, too, if you can get it for cheap. Do you have also have Shale? If not, that's another one worth getting.

I named mine after a Greek god or generic Barkspawn.
I think I have a Hades, Zeus, Poseidon and Hermes running around in my saves.

I've done a ridiculous number of playthroughs (or at least starts...) so I keep renaming it different things.
My first, as a human noble? WoofsworthPuppington. (I would have gone with Ser Woofsworth Puppington the Furth if they provided enough space and/or allowed spaces.) I figured he was pretty much fully-grown, so the noble probably got him when they were younger and did it in a fit of whimsy.
I did a Drizzt clone, because you have to do a Drizzt clone (or at least start one) in a western fantasy RPG that lets you play a dual-wielding elf with dark skin and white hair, and for that I called him Guenhwyvar. (Which, I admit, is a girl's name, but eh--Drizzt clone)
I've also done Dog and Barkspawn.
I might do another human noble playthrough sometime where I make my PC look like a haggard, scarred old man and give the dog the name "Mr. Puddles".
I named my dog Marmaduke. I'm also quite sad, I was so busy not paying attention that I missed out on pre-ordering the Signature edition. I'm hoping the local Wal-Mart will get a bunch like they did for the collector's edition of New Vegas.

I just finished another playthrough after a year off the game. A couple of points...
1. I'd forgotten how attached I'd gotten to the character of Shale. They wrapped up the golem's story well.
2. I take back what I said before about the screenshot they posted. The textures ingame looked just as detailed.
3. I'm half tempted to download Witch Hunt now.
4. Logain was a dick.

Doesn't look unreasonably out of line with my experiences. I'll try to remember to take some screenshots when I do a canon run to prepare for DA2

It's deliberate. They wanted to give Dragon Age it's own feel and aesthetic rather then ASoIaF IN MIDDLE EARTH.

I've got every setting cranked to the max and those textures look to be a higher resolution than what's on my screen.
Granted, it's not THAT far off... but still. It's a promo picture.

A million years ago, when we first saw the screen you're referring to, I was a bit sceptical.
But all the stuff we've seen lately looks amazing.
Seconded, it's just been getting better and better.

Not really, no.

Rex after the austrian crime solving dog, then the W for our favourite Krogan.
