Have ingredients, need recipes. This thread is for everyone.
I have some steaks and tilapia filets thawing right now. Here is some random other stuff I have in the pantry:
tortillas
black beans
chopped peppers
broccoli florets
peas
diced tomatoes
cheese
black olives
pasta sauce
and various other sundries.
I look at this list and I think fajitas/fish tacos, but I dunno. I'm not averse to trying something new. Any interesting ideas, besides "grill up the steaks and filets, then serve with broccoli on the side"?
[strike]Also if ceres doesn't mind you can ask the same kinda thing in this thread. If she does mind, then no you can't.[/strike]
EDIT:
If you have an ingredient list you'd like suggestions for, feel free to post it.

Can pretty much make anything with chicken. Any sauces on hand?
Hell at one point when I didn't feel like making anything special I just cooked up some rice, cut up and cooked a couple chicken breasts and mixed them with diced tomatoes in a bit of oil/vinegar and it turned out alright for a simple meal.

Got some olive oil. Maybe I'll throw some on the chicken with rosemary and garlic?
Tomatoes, beans, peppers, olives, cheese tortillas. Sounds like taco night to me. Cook the chicken in strips and you can use it as the main filler, if the cheese isn't shredded just grate it or cut it into little pieces. I've even put pasta sauce on them, but that was with beef, not chicken, so I don't know how that would work. Brocoli works if you cut it up small enough, though the peas don't factor into this plan.
Lettuce would really help, but it's not necessary.
Okay. Grilling up the rosemary garlic chicken nonsense now, I'll put them on tortillas with a bunch of veggies/sour cream/salsa and it'll be a nice improv Tex Mex.
Thanks! Like I said, feel free to use this thread if you've got a bunch of ingredients and need suggestions on what to do with them.
since I don't know all of the ingredients you have available, I'll give you some recipes we like but you may not have or be willing/able to get some of the ingredients
One of our favorite and regular chicken recipes. I'm guessing aleppo pepper isn't readily available where you are so just follow the suggestion to use crushed red pepper and paprika instead (I bet smoked paprika would work even better).

So the new order of the day is chicken. Delicious poultry.

Yummy mexican style soup with hominy. The pureed hominy gives it a flavor similar to tortilla soup.

This is awesome. I'll try and give each of these a shot over the next few weeks. Thanks!
