Timothy Olyphant stars as Raylan Givens, a U.S. Marshall who gets reassigned back to his hometown of Arlan, Kentucky after the shooting of a Miami drug lord. And he is the most badass man in the entire state of Kentucky.
The show also stars Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder, an old friend of Raylan's who wields a bible and a rocket launcher with equal aplomb.
Formerly a militant racist, a near brush with death has shown him the error of his ways or so he claims, and rather than blow up black churches, he now firebombs meth labs and drug shipments.

My blu-ray came in Wednesday, and I'm waiting to take my Dad through the series.
But the second season can't arrive soon enough holy balls

Terriers was the best new show of 2010 though, sorry
A moment of silence.
....
Lights Out seems like it could be pretty OK, even though I'm not really into boxing at all and I'm kinda mad at FX for canceling Terriers (not that I was surprised).
We should let the Justified fans have this thread, though. I only saw a few episodes from the first season when my roommate watched 'em on Hulu. Seemed alright even if I thought the Kentucky hillbilly characters were a little over the top.

Justified is one of my favorite shows. I can't wait for the second season.
I am awfully sad Terriers didn't get renewed.
Also, Lights Out is starting strong. FX has some of the best stuff.
I like it on it's own, very much like the firefly theme, but yeah if you're watching more than one episode it gets a bit repetitive, and usually I just want to watch the fucking TV show, I already know who acts in it and don't really care much about all the other names just let me see what is going to happen already.

Next to the Firefly theme, it is the worst theme for a really good TV show.
I will tolerate no denigration of the Firefly theme. Certainly not when nobody has taken a gratuitous shot at the Star Trek: Enterprise theme yet. Although whether STE was a really good TV show is certainly open to dispute, I suppose.

I cannot speak to the quality of the show yet though

No sane person likes the Firefly theme. Only people who suckle at the teet of Joss Whedon.
Firefly is a great show, but that theme is an assault on everybody.

The theme is perfectly in keeping with the style and tone of the show. It may take some time to get that, just as it initially took me some time to "get" Firefly itself (which, BTW, is the only Whedon show I have ever watched...although I do own the omnibus edition of his run as Astonishing X-Men writer...is that enough suckling?).

Does this show get any better or is it still just "Raylan tries not to get angry, but then he does and everything works out by minute 44?" because that was only fun for about four episodes. . . well, the random guest stars help a lot.
I think I only saw the first, maybe, 4-5 episodes watching over my roommate's shoulder and I felt like I sort of got the gist of the show, namely, "Hey, this guy uses a cowboy style of justice in a setting where that is not typical (namely Kentucky, which sort of seems like it ought to be Oklahoma or something)."
It wasn't bad, it just seemed like it needed to develop into something more than that. But maybe it did, like I said, I only saw like maybe half the first season at most.
This show needs to have a cross-over with The Good Guys. That way we get a 1970's southern cop teaming up with an 1880's southern cop, but without all of the sticky racism. It's win-win.

What episode should I skip to, then? The last one I saw was with Dan from Deadwood.
Well you made it over halfway through the season, there's only 5 more episodes after that.
But if you want to skip ahead, then the last 3 eps are by far the best part of the series, when Boyd and his dad Bo Crowder (played by M.C. Gainey!) both get out of prison.

But it definitely grows on you
And then it gets stuck in your head and you're like "motherfucker"
Are there more random guest stars?

Get to work on that, Hollywood.
Plus, killin' white supremacist meth Nazis is pretty damn cool.

Poor, poor Terriers.
