You all know how the events of the Shattering of Star Road happened don't you?
How the great and evil Smithy descended from the sky, literally breaking apart the wishes of the entire world, and proceeded to subjugate the inhabitants of the Mushroom Kingdom, that he might become the ruler of yet another realm, and be able to continue the production of his massive army.
How a small group of heroes, including one famous mustachioed plumber, went on an epic quest to gather up the pieces of the broken road, fighting members of Smithy's Gang (Not to mention the natural dangers of the Mushroom Kingdom) every step of the way.
Yes. Of course you all know the story well. You've recited it in your history classes since kindergarden, always speaking of the valor of Mario, Bowser, Geno, Mallow, and Princess Toadstool.
But what if I told you that the real battle hadn't gone exactly like the old stories say it did? What would you do if I revealed to you that the actual invasion of Smithy's Gang was a far more violent matter than a simple imprisonment of people and the destruction of minor cities.
What could you possibly know of the countless heroes who rose up, and were squashed beneath the mighty heel of Smithy's Empire? How can you fathom the stench of the battlefields, as mechanical monstrisities tore apart the ranks of the kingdom's soldiers.
Yes. The real battle was an altogether more ruthless conflict than the stories tell. There was much bloodshed, and many heroes that allegedly survived that brutal time are actually lost in unmarked graves, no-one knowing the exact place where they lie. There are some theories that even the result of the war was hidden, that maybe Mario did not defeat Smithy after all. That perhaps we are only here because Smithy allows our pitiful lives to continue.
Really, who am I to say? The only survivors of the Shattering of Star Road are long gone, their struggles and their triumphs lost to time...
Was ist das?
Well, my German friend, this is a forum game called a Phalla that will be co-hosted by me and Extermatott. It's an online version of the popular party game "Mafia". Generally, it features a larger but uninformed part of the playerbase trying to eliminate a smaller, but more well informed portion of the playerbase. I can't explain it very well though, so if you're new to Phalla and you're still a bit confused, check out
this thread.
This particular Phalla is based off of the very fun game known as Super Mario RPG.
What're the rules matey?
Well my pirate friend, all standard rules apply. If you are unfamiliar with the rules, here are the most important ones.
Never copypaste or directly quote a Role PM.
You're allowed one post after you are dead to make a joke/talk about how angry you are. No game information is allowed to be in this post.
There is no anonymous contact allowed. Additionally, if you do form a private forum/ProBoard, both me and Extermatott have to be invited.
Every day, everyone will cast one "vote" these votes happen in
bold red. The person who is the target of the majority of votes at the time of vote close is automatically killed. There are no exceptions to this.
You must vote at least once a day to be considered "active." People who do not meet the activity requirement for more than one night will be removed from the game and either replaced by a reserve or killed outright.
If you have any questions, you can post in the thread in
bold orange. Alternatively, if the question is rather sensitive because it reveals something about your role, you may PM Extermatott your question.
So. Is there anything else I need to know?
Sure! Let's make this OP longer!
This game is intended for 25 players.
This game will feature mechanics that people will not like, although I can guarantee you that you will always be playing towards the win condition you obtained in your Role PM.
Balance is by no means assured, as neither me or Extermatott has run a game before. Crazy shit will happen.
Vote close is 8 PM US Eastern. That's GMT -5 for those of you who need to know.
That should be all. Obviously the OP will be updated if clarifications are needed. Now go!

LIES!
Fucking loved this game.
(Gonna go ahead and state, though, that I have a job which does not involve a desk or computer, and as such will not be super active, just adequately active.)
I will be writing the narrations. As such, orders should be sent to me.

If I'm not too late.
what does extermatott do?
MAGIC!
He's supposed to answer clarifications but he's not doing a very good job.
Also he's writing Role PM's, he came up with the theme, and we wrote the roles together. So, mostly stuff that happened before the game.
