This is all I know of the game: this trailer that dropped today. All I know is that I like what I see.
Do take this with a grain of salt though; we all remember what happened the last time we got a promising trailer for a usual-style Kirby platformer for the Wii.
Kirby's awesome but I was hoping for a Yoshi game for Nintendo's annual 2D platformer offering. They did two last year so maybe there's still a chance.

Man, I hope so. I've been waiting for a new Kirby game that doesn't suck, and isn't "Prince Fluff and the Kirby tie-in" ever since they cancelled the GC game.

Really? My friend bought it and I watched him beat it in an afternoon. He was really pissed at how short it was. Although generally there is more to do than simply beating the game once.
EDIT: I do remember it being pretty cool while it lasted, with a colossal amount of abilities to use.
Come to think of it, couldn't this just as easily be a 3DS game? It would make more sense since they *just* came out with a Wii one.
Edit: Then again, I suppose they'd put the HUD stuff on the lower screen if that were the case.
Hell, if that's ALL they gotta do, that's hardly a hurdle to put it on the 3DS. I gotta say, more than a few of those Kirby super moves would be quite stunning in 3D, and that super-big mook he beat up into little mooks also has a certain shine to it that strongly suggests how striking this would be in 3D.
Not that the 3DS has any shortage of stuff in development or anything.

If I remember correctly there is a point where the game "ends" but it actually doesn't, and there are more levels.
Could have imagined it thought.

I'm sort of crossing my fingers that this one doesn't have the animal companions. I don't know what it is, but I tend to not like the Kirby games that use them. I dunno, it feels like cheating - like they throw in some cute animals to hide the fact that the design is not as good as previous games :P
It's probably all in my head, I just am not a big fan of Dreamland 2 & 3 :P I should probably check out some of the others (never played Kirby 64 or some of the GBA ones)
Not really. The old one has a lot of characters and Smash-style combat, but doesn't look like a real platformer along the lines of Dreamland et al.
The new one shows off way more environmental hazards, block manipulation, moving platforms, slopes etc. It looks like a true Kirby game and not just a retread of Brawl Adventure Mode like the other one.

Agreed. I like Kirby in general but 64 was pretty awesome.

A return to form, the Kirby we know and love, after the unbelievable (though very pretty) borefest that was Epic Yarn

Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
No it didn't. Take off your rose-tinted glasses. It still looked great, mind, but this looks even more awesome.
It looks a million times better.

He swallowed John Marston from Red Dead Redemption to gain his powers. A hint to his inclusion in SSB4.
I liked it better when I could play as Captain Falcon.

Basically all I'm asking for is that exact game again with updated hand drawn graphics.

That came out on GBA, called itself Nightmare in Dreamland.

There is a new one coming for the DS as well. The fourth DS title, after Canvas Curse, Squeak Squad and SS Ultra.
Yup. NSMB, DK Returns, now this Kirby game? excellent stuff.
Does Other M count
What is everybody's favorite power combo?
I liked Stone/Electric. Giant boulder yo-yo!
Also didn't have the terrible slowdown of the NES game.
You mean Kirby bullet time?
And the bonus game of being able to play through the entire game as meta-knight after 100% completion.
