I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 a few weeks ago and we're trying out new drugs. I tried Abilify first, but that didn't work out so well.
I'm not sure what it will even feel to not have the illness. I'm on 40 mg of Citalopram and 348mg of Alplenzin for depression. I could definitely feel when those were working for me. I got laid off from my job a month ago, though, and even though I was taking those still I was pretty much back to where I started. Now i'm being told that I got bipolar...ity...ness?
experiences about bipolarity and Depakote, I guess. please
There are a whole bunch of different drugs that people take for being bipolar. Different ones work for different people, and I think the average (which is to say "the halfway point," i.e. just as many people have to try more as have to try less) number of drugs people have to try before they find one that works for them is something like four. So, don't feel like there's nothing out there for you if the first couple of drugs you try don't work; that's pretty normal.
