Is there a subject on this or an good intro book that anyone could suggest?

Basically, just interested in how systems; like the internet or language; evolve and development. In 50 years I doubt well have the same "internet" as we know it. How is it going to evolve? Or what happens when two cultures with two distinct languages start inter-mingling. Or ants and bees, how the work?

You might like The Advent of the Algorithm by David Berlinsky. It talks about the evolution of ideas. I also really liked The Age of Spiritual Machines by Kurzweil. Good starting points for this sort of thing.
