Yeah, I would recommend against it. I haven't played Dungeons, but I've heard not great things.
Also, they made a lot of mentions about how it is similar to Dungeon Keeper. Unfortunately, the things that are similar they did not do well, and they missed a lot of what was special in the DK games.

Oh, I think DK is the game that I am thinking of then.
I actually remember being in a fit of laughter, when I watched the Dungeons trailer. Not that it looked bad or anything, it was impossible to tell that from the trailer. But just because of how much of a fucking Dungeon Keeper rip off it was.

Yes, I'm easily amused.
Makes me sad because that's exactly what I wanted it to be
My wife is ok with my Steam purchases as long as I don't get too crazy. She's pretty happy I'm not into something like golf or boating. Gaming is relatively inexpensive and it doesn't take me out of the house.
I've found that's the key to a good marriage - building up the intent of an extremely expensive hobby that I don't have any interest in following up on so that a later purchase seems like a relief in comparison. It's win/win/win!
See, I do Warmachine/Warhammer 40k/Computer gaming. I oft spend nights in the house painting/playing and she's cool with that. She even plays computer games many nights out of the week and has expressed an interest in getting into minature wargaming (best wife ever).
Problems arise when: Steam has a sale, internet miniature gaming sites have a sale, and I get bit with the generosity bug. It's at that point I spend close to a thousand dollars in 2 months via paypal (so quietly at my computer) and she gets the statement 30 days later and goes: "Um, what happened here?"
Then I point to the games I bought her on Steam, and a few models to get her started and things mellow out.
She is still teasing me every day about it though.
Yeah that's racist against trains. There's plenty of other kinds of trains, not just steam engines! :P
Sure, but that's how they started.
Man, if I get that distro center job with 2.25 times pay, I'm totally getting a custom machine and not building my own.
This... does not make any sense?
The two statements in my post are completely unconnected. And I'm getting a new computer because my current one can't play some of the games I own on Steam.

I was more talking about the last statement. You are going to be "getting a custom machine and not building my own" where I'd think something you build yourself is custom and something you 'get' (ie. buy) is not terribly custom, as it comes in a box

There are companies that will custom build a system according to your specifications. IBuyPower is one example.

Well, all the places I know of that do that basically sell you the parts and then charge you something like $50-$75 to put it together for you. Not that bad of a deal, if you're not terribly handy with that sort of things or just don't feel like going through the hassle.

I moved to Japan recently, but for some reason Steam is insisting my paypal is locked to my English address. How do I pay using paypal given I am living in Japan?

Explain your circumstances to Steam support and they will unlock it. That happened to me, too.

I'm astonished you need it at all. It's not like paypal is region locked

If you're using your previously saved payment info, try entering new payment info with your new address, but the same Paypal before contacting support. I don't remember if Pypal knows your address, but apparently Steam doesn't like if you say you live somewhere other than where you currently are.

I've seen people say it doesn't work in South Africa, so apparently it is? Shrug.

So now a little bit of time has passed since Breach released, and I've been reading some different opinions around the web. It seems to be a pretty polarizing game, but one that sounds enjoyable to me.
That brings me to you guys. Has anyone here actually played it? I'm mainly interested in the performance and stability of the game, but any other opinions are welcome too, of course.

Honestly it doesn't sound like the type of game that would play well on consoles. Everything I've read says the PC version controls and feels way better.

Ignore what Drake says about the PC version controlling and feeling better. That makes it sounds like it's the "preferable option".
But it's the preferable option in the same way that torture is preferable to death: You really don't want to do either, and you hope there is a third choice.
Well, you're in luck! The third choice exists: "Don't buy Breach".
I heartily recommend that you exercise your right to that choice, and not buy Breach.
For reals, though: They spent so much time focusing on what turned out to be a shitty destruction engine that they didn't have enough time left over to make it a good game in any sense.

kind of getting off topic but for the love of all that is holy do not patronize IBuyPower. They have the worst customer service ever.
Chances are you have a RL friend who lives reasonably near by who enjoys building computers and would help you build yours for $10-20 and a pizza for when the comp's done being built.
I'm not advocating doing business with IBuyPower, I considered it and the markup seemed too much for me so I just built my new system myself, I'm just saying there are outfits that will build a PC according to your specs out there.
The roll-your-own or "hey buddy" methods are quite superior, but not everybody has the time/gumption/courage or techy friends.
Steam issues ahoy!
So I tried launching Lara Croft and the Guard ian of Light just now to do some co-op with Suds but it just won't load. I've verified cache, fragmeented the cache and twiddled some knobs I probably shouldn't have but no luck. Dark messiah has gone too it seems. Mafia 2 ran fine as did a few others. Suggestions?

That's what I've charged in the past, anyway.
Nope! All my real-life friends live in Northern Virginia, and most of them are in school right now.
I verified the cache again and it worked.
Worth the trouble, we had a blast. Highly recommend that game for multiplayer shens and we didn't even try the skins.
