Free-to-play, and is a relaxing game that I'm having alot of fun with. I'm only a level 18 or so, but still! Jetpacking around the environments is a ton of fun, too.
It's like Tabula Rasa meets Tribes, in a way. $7.50 is a great price if you have the itch for basic MMO gameplay all-prettied-up in sci-fi clothing
I would say Global Agenda is not worth 7.50 unless you like grinding. Or high level players with better stats and equipment you don't have pounding you into a fine mist.
It's a niche product targeted to a specific group of hobbyists. We all love to make fun of the damn thing, and the game itself probably wouldn't hold interest to us at all, but I'm sure there's a dedicated set of train enthusiasts out there that thinks it's just the great. It's just that type of thing.
And if you're marketing to a specific group with lots of disposable income, you can afford that crazy stream of DLC.
It's precisely the sort of product I expected to see a lot more of, back when Steam was first announced.
I think it's way cool that a thing like Railworks exists, even if I it's not the type of thing I would buy myself.

And they would be fools if they didn't sell all of that DLC.
The real issue is that Steam needs a Railworks category alongside their New Releases, Coming Soon, Bestsellers and Specials tabs. I think that would make everyone happy.

Alternatively, a "never show me this game or any of its DLC unless I search for it" button.
I also really love the concept of railworks and I'm glad it exists (even at a four digit full price...) but I could do without getting every single bloody announcement of a new train.
I am actually really regretting not buying more during the Christmas sale.
Unless you haven't got enough games in your backlog to last you, not buying games at Christmas is a good thing: You'll get the same games cheaper either during the weekly deals, or in the Summer.
Sigh... So I went ahead and made the plunge and purchased the Sims 3 Ultimate Bundle.
Do I feel like a consumer whore? Yes...
Do I feel annoyed that they ninja'd in more DLC onto Steam without including it in the "Ultimate Bundle"? Somewhat...
Am I happy that this will keep my GF busy while I'm playing PS3/360? Most definitely...
It's only money though, so whatever. As long as bills are paid, food is in the fridge, and shit is going into savings, I really could care less.

If Sims 2 is any indication they're not even halfway yet.

Yeah, I know. I keep hearing about some "Pets" expansion and how she wishes this one had that already. Hopefully though, all future content gets released Day 1 on Steam when it comes out. Otherwise I'll have to re-explain that somethings can't be activated with Steam, and how even though we OWN the game, we can't ... my brain already hurts.
Remember how the PC version of Stranger's Wrath was absolutely terrible? Turns out that the update they released for it helped a lot. I'm still seeing some graphical oddities, but it actually seems playable now.
So, the unfortunately named Who's That Flying?! caught my eye, and after a quick Google search I found out it's apparently a port of a supposedly rather good PSP downloadable game.
So, on the off chance that anyone anywhere has actually played a downloadable PSP game, is this any good?

So, anyone interested in checking out Numen? Don't bother. I quit the demo after about 45 seconds. I should have been tipped off by the fact that they list "choose your gender" as a feature.
It's a third-person RPG with MMO-style combat in a single-player environment. Very clunky. Very amateur. Very not-worth-2-dollars.
I bought it for $2 when it was on sale over... christmas I think? I played it for about half an hour and it was just terrible. The movement felt painfully awkward to the extent that it was almost exhausting to play. Personally I want my $2 back.
Any of you guys and gals use gamersgate for something that wasn't registerable on Steam? I wanna but Two Worlds but never tried gamersgate before.not sure if it uses it's own launcher our what.
I bought a load of games on GG. Then I ended up rebuying them on Steam because I always forget I have them.
GG uses a stand-alone donwloader for EACH game. Then it installs, you enter the serial, authenticate the game online this once, and from then on s the DRM's up to each game.
It's not bad in itself, but it's a hassle to keep track of the games you own and have installed. I kinda gave it up. Only Steam and GoG for me.
Trying to figure out why it is that everybody's wife/GF seems to love The Sims.
My wife played the hell out of Sims 1 and 2.
She got Sims 3 and didn't like it. In the first two you could build a house, put your people in and pretty much just observe as they go about their daily lives. Sims 3 requires too much poking and prodding to keep the game moving.

Impulse is just bad, though.
Thats a good point actually. I've bought numerous things from D2D only to rebuy them on STeam because they were either cheap or I'd forgotten I bought the darn thing in the first place. I'll probably just stick with Steam. Hopeffully Two Worlds 2 comes out quickly on it.
Yeah, I figured. Scratch that plan then. Maybe if they ever release Roller Coaster Tycoon, she'd like that.
I found the opposite, it's pretty scalable. My onboard Nvidia 9500 played it at a fairly low res with medium to low detail without too much of an issue. My wife doesn't really care what it looks like, as long as it works (probably why she married me).
Incidentally I upgraded my graphics card and a few other bits and bobs and can now play it in 1080p in full detail and she can't actually tell the difference.
It's a slow paced game, it really doesn't matter if it drops to 15fps.
Finally got around to playing Prey, really sad I missed the radio broadcast of the aliens calling Art Bell. But there's youtube!
Get impulse for Galactic Civilizations 2 Gold and Sins of a Solar Empire.
Do they ever have decent sales on those?
I've been wanting them but not for the prices they're at, and probably still wouldn't at only a half decent sale.
And I never really check to be honest since I don't plan on using their service for anything but those games.
(Although Fences is a pretty sweet program, but the free version already covers most my needs )
Edit: Sidenote Myst Master Piece Edition (and the Cyan Complete Pack) seem to be 25% off. Hope that's not the weekend deal ;_;

The thing you ONLY see if you are in steam?
Well, why the fuck does it open a god damn browser window when I click on it instead of just opening the page in steam.

I guess that makes sense.
The Sims = virtual dollhouse
Railworks = virtual model trains

Yeah, I really would love to try it on my netbook so my wife can play it. I'm not sure she would like playing on my computer a lot.

It's a gigantic resource hog, and unless your netbook is an alienware I doubt itill run....

It isn't. That's because Myst Masterpiece Edition was just released on Steam.
I'm not familiar with Myst. What is the difference between Myst Masterpiece Edition and realMyst?
