[Solved] Quick Power Supply Question

Hey All,

Just have a quick question. Friend of mines 580W power supply just died and he asked me if getting a 720W would be ok to replace it with. Sadly my knowledge of power supplies is lacking. So I come to you PA H/A.

Any thing wrong with doing this?

    A 720W cost more than a 580W.

    Apparently there is a sale on a 720 at the best buy near where he works. I think he said $80.

    It should be fine. The computer will only pull as much power as it needs. A higher W power supply won't overpower the PC if that's what he's concerned about.
