Help with school work, Penny Arcade as a Virtual community

Well this is kinda ambitious and a little bit forward as a first post but bear with me please.(also a little embarrassing)

Well I'm taking a course in my U about Virtual Communities and have been tasked with studying one, so me being the good geek I am I decided to base it around Penny Arcade (it also helps that is one of the biggest communities about games/geekiness in general).

So with that out of the way I was wondering if you guys could answer a few questions, the answers need to be from personal experience or your own personal opinion, and the longer you have been involved with Penny Arcade, the better or if you are a moderator/admin that would help immensely (it would be completely awesome if I could get Gabe or Tycho to answer these questions BTW).

These are questions about the whole of the PA community not just the forums by the way, although the forums do take a great part in making a community I'm interested about the whole.

If you don't feel comfortable answering some questions, don't worry about it, but if you feel so inclined you could send me an email with the answers if you like, to this e-mail: PAVCwork at gmail dot com.

So without further ado here are my questions (apologies if the questions seem a bit out of order):

a)how old are you?
b) do you work or study? in what?
c)where do you live? (country and/or city)

A) In your opinion What is the purpose of the PA community?
B) When was the PA community started?

1) Since when are you part of the PA community?
2) what attracted you to it?
3)What do you consider essential if you want to be a part of the PA community?
4) What do you consider essential if you want to be an active and respected member?
5) What is it that identifies someone as part of the PA community?
6Is there a hierarchy in the PA community? how does it work?
7)Aside from PAX and CHild's play, how does the PA community affect the Real World(tm)?
8) How does beign part of the PA community affect you in the Real World (tm)?
9)how is the social aspect of the community for you, only virtual or in the real world as well? (i hate that word the real world but it's the only one I can think of right now to make my point)
10)Have you gone to Pax or donated to child's Play? how was the experience?
11) anything else you want to say about Penny arcade either the community or the webcomic itself?

And that's it, i know it's kinda long but i would really appreciate it.

Anyway thanks a lot.

Welcome to the Penny Arcade forums, Soleyu! Generally speaking, we prefer it if new users lurk for a while, participate in topical threads, and generally get a feel for the place before posting new discussions. Also, for the record, asking for help with one's schoolwork is generally discouraged, although you can make a case for it by private-messaging a forum moderator. Thanks for your cooperation with these guidelines, and have a good morning!
