I wanna know if any of you can point me in the direction of some good, solid jazz. I'm trying to think of songs I like, but I only ever heard them on NPR and I kind of tuned the DJ's out because most of them sounded like they were swimming in a sea of morphine or something.

    Don't really know a lot about modern Jazz

    Of course there are always your classics, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, those guys

    is there any good 3rd party music programs for mac that can play flac and stuff

    i can convert the flac, i dont really care, but im rly lazy

    How is it the only version you can find of stuff? Neither iTunes nor Amazon sell FLAC, and even if you buy a CD and rip it, that's still not in the format.

    They are essentially a metal band who clearly know what a D20 does

    A lot of their records are about the Noldor

    And when you listen to their stuff it straight up makes you want to slay an army of orcs

    Ack there was a program I recently used to convert FLAC to mp3 on my iMac.

    I uninstalled it though and I can't remember what it was called.

    mostly i just feel weird adding things to itunes from an external HD that isn't always hooked up

    how does itunes handle somethin' like that?

    +converting is time consuming, of course, that is why i just want some kinda media player

    iTunes would play the music without any problems as long as it could access the files. If you unplugged your drive and tried to play a file it would pop up that little "file not found" exclamation mark next to the file and that's about it.

    How many FLAC files do you have? You can just do them all in one batch and leave it for a while, I think it keeps the tags and stuff.

    i guess it wouldn't be that hard

    i'd probably do it on my pc, just search for all flac files and be like blap

    no clue how much i actually have, it's just sort of mixed in

    so many musics
