With my 1mb/s connection I can't really notice it, I've already downloaded stuff from EA and it was just as hit and miss as Steam is on a game's launch day. BF3 is $25 in Thailand. *hint hint*
The whole bullets causing minor disruption around you when they heat nearby is really showing that they're leaning towards a more realistic setting more and more. This is getting interesting. I can't remember, was co-op confirmed?

Nothing has bee confirmed in that dept yet, but I sure hope so. Considering how much this will stress those poor consoles, I can almost guarantee that splitscreen is out.
And that EA Store deal sounds sketchy as hell. Not in an illegal sort of way, but in a "good luck if EA changes their minds or you have region issues" sort of way.

I think that has more to do with the soldier flinching involuntarily in response.

Yeah that's what I meant, just didn't know how to describe it. Arma and Crysis (With mods) did it, makes moments when you're under fire much more tense.

OK, maybe it was a rumor I read. Or an interview where the project director was... evasive with his answer.
Oh. Well, like that stuff in Modern Warfare 2? Blah.
Spec ops mode was probably the single best thing about MW2. It still wasn't great, but it was at least entertaining to play with couch co-op. That said, I hope the BF3 version (if that is indeed what they are giving us) is a bit more interesting.

Make no mistake, I found it vastly better than the single player campaign or multiplayer but it is a shallow replacement for campaign co-op.

It's $25 in the EA store because EA fucking hate steam
$25 is a damn tempting price, I thought I was going to wait on this until a few months after release but come on... No. No, I must be strong.

Well that video was pimpin'. I like the prase 'clear your back-blast' very much indeed. Hopefully this will mean less fucking retard quake players using the rockets as solely anti-infantry devices. Using it indoors would really mess your shit up with back-blast included.

I have a feeling that was likely a scripted line. However, having rockets blow out your hearing and blur your vision slightly in MP would still be pretty cool.

Hey, piss me off and you get the Carl Gustav.
Or as we like to call in the BC2 thread, the "Hot Carl" :winky:
Backblast is modeled in Point of Existence 2 and in Project Reality, if you're hot for it, but I'd say the chances are extremely slim that you'll be able to TK people in multiplayer by firing a rocket launcher away from them. EXTREMELY slim.
Also I'll be going to C2E2 (Convention in Chicago)
and supposedly Battlefield 3 is going to be there. I wouldn't know if its playable or not though
(Probably not)
Just saw the second video, and I've got to say, the impact from that AT-4 on the building was damn impressive.
I remember reading in an article, when they where showcasing the video they kept getting questions about what kind of rocket launcher that is. It's a SMAW rocket weapon using the thermobaric round, Novel Explosive (SMAW-NE). It got me all excited because the way the rocket it used in Iraq: you launch it at the 1st floor of the building bad guys are in, and it collapses the entire building possibly killing everyone in it (or 2nd floor, and with the overpressure kill everyone on that floor/room and possibly collapse the building). It is always great to see newer weapons included.
I wonder if it'll make it into Multi.
The thing I just can't get over in the video is how the squad mates don't have any sights on their weapons. I mean...what the hell?

Pre-alpha, it's been noted by the devs. The final game (which is still many months away) will have proper 3rd person weapon models.
what are we looking at for a release?
A nebulous "Fall 2011".
Which is likely October or November. And considering they're very clearly going head-to-head with COD, end of October to early November seems very likely.

Gimme the Steam version
I thought it was rumored, but not confirmed.
Happy to be proven wrong here.

Although I can't provide a source, I seem to recall that there is a co-op mode that is separate from the single player campaign.

It's 59.95 in the US as well, because EA hates everyone equally :P
Digital Deluxe Edition with the Karkand map pack DLC
@MrDelish: Hahaha, so true.
Stupid DICE.
That would be amazing if they included that.

Probably a ~year if it's pre-alpha.
