I've got one I've got one.

    what is the joke there

The joke is that a 5 range, slow-ass unit that drunkenly wobbles around and blocks it's own path is not a good counter to a 15 range stationary target that rains down death.

But Immortals are fantastic against Roach and decent vs. Marauder so they are still useful, just not for what they were designed for.

I would love it if Immortals were fast enough to swarm.

And they would advance upon their targets, crawling all over them.

    Crushing them.

    Suffocating them.

Then your Zealots charge in and slice em all up.

    Spaffy,

I saw game 1 vs the Terran. To be honest, the timings for your opening could have been tighter, but that isn't a huge issue. I like going Gateway, Core, then Robotics first, just to get that quick observer (or possibly rush to colossus). I also like to suicide a probe up to see what's going on. If I had seen the probe die to a bunker full of marines/marauders, I would expect banshee play and get two observers just to be safe. How the probe dies is often a tell of what the terran is doing. Also, you were trying to do too much off of one base towards the end there. 4 gates, robo (with robotics bay), and a twilight? You could have taken that expansion so easily and gotten way ahead and managed to get Colossi to crush him. The support bay was mostly unused. Also, it doesn't hurt to poke around and pressure him a little. Make sure you get vision of the high ground with the observer, and lump your forces outside of his vision. Quickly dart in and take a few shots and back off. Try not to just a-move your forces in a conga line, it gets them killed pretty fast. And one last thing...FORCEFIELDS. You need to get a bigger sentry number. Forcefields are crucial to holding off strong one base attacks as well as turning a battle in your favor. The forcefield also allows you to run away :). Next time, just play a PvT with expanding in mind, and you should be able to support 4gates + colossus quite easily.

Thanks for the advice. I'm at work, so I can't check the replay, but if I remember correctly in that game I was (or at least, at the time I thought I was) behind in units but ahead in economy and was worried a push would wipe me out if I tried to expand, so I tried to tech a little instead. Should I have just gone for the expo instead?
3rd game: I saw a few places you could have pushed in after killing his 2nd hatch and won. It's really hard to see them in game, though.

Was that the game where he had a few spines? Spines scare the shit out of me for some reason, far more than a few cannons would in PvP. I always feel like it's not worth the unit losses required to take them out unless I pull back and mass up - should I just have powered in?

iNcontrol's stream's the best for banter and general entertainment.

Catz's stream is the best for going "How in the hell did that actually work?" every 10 minutes or so.

Catz was talking about "patch notes that you can't find anywhere" on his stream.

Insider information, I guess? Something about improving corruptor damage against void rays and decreasing it against colossi.

I -think- I got my stream working smoothly. as in the game runs smoothly while the stream is on, which was a problem.

I'll test when I can actually jump into an online game.

for now I think I'm gonna watch some replay packs since I never do that.

Supposedly, changing their attack from "+6 against massive" to "+4 against armored".

A little disturbing because they're such an inefficient counter to colossi already, but now they should actually beat VRs for cost.

Corruptors deal garbage damage but have a lot of health. They take forever to kill colossi unless you build a lot of them. Which takes a lot of money / psi / larva -> even weaker ground army.

So, often you're left with a lot of corruptors versus a bunch of stalkers when big fights wind down. It's a hard balance to strike.

This always seems to be okay for me, I just retreat the corruptors while respawning my whole frigging army. Then try and use them to scout if he's making more collosiseseseses or switching to immortals. If it's the latter then I might get a few replacement corruptors, if the latter then moar hydras. Even if they do go for the immortals, then the corruptors are pretty useful for gunking them up for quicker sniping.

Every game with protoss is the same with me. If I let him get more than say two collossi, then it's into army trading territory. If I hit him early enough with a decent sized roach ball, then I can take the match there and then. This is completely dependent on how shitty my macro has been in the match.

The cornerstone of winning against a Protoss is denying their third while keeping your own and possibly taking a fourth. Taking the fourth is not as important as denying their third, though.

You never want to play against a protoss with that kind of income. Never ever good times.

With the colo I would tend to try scout it coming and manage to have corruptors in large enough numbers that they could take out the colo fast enough. You really want to have the fight before they have more than 3 or so though.
