Bought this on the way home today. I'm conflicted if I actually want to unwrap it from the plastic or not, though, since that's the point-of-no-return if I ended up not liking the game and wanted to return it.

I'm mainly concerned that there are no reviews for it anywhere, despite it being out since Tuesday. Not that I put a huge amount of stock in reviews, but it was concerning that nobody's reviewed the game yet. Gives me the feeling that the publisher knows the game isn't very good and didn't send out review copies. I'm also curious why it's only $50 on the Xbox rather than the usual $60.

You guys wanna give me the last push I need to tear the plastic? I mean I can't find a whole lot of media related to the game, review or otherwise, so this seems like the best place for some opinion on the game.

Why buy it at all and hmm and haww over it? Do your homework. Buy the 1st one for 10 bucks and cut your teeth on the TDU experience. Make your own decisions, man up and play the fucking game.

Because I did buy the first one, and happened to like it, but that was also four years ago and a lot can happen to a series that's been dormant for that long. There's very little information out there on this game, and I was asking YOU all your opinion on it before I unwrapped it, looking to know if there are any bugs or any other negative things that might bring the game down. That way I could return it before unwrapping it and buy another game I'm interested in.

But hey, thanks for telling me I'm an indecisive wimp and telling me to find everything out on my own. You've been super helpful.

On another note, thanks for the other constructive feedback from everyone else. I appreciate it.

Blah blah - Have you played it yet or not?

    Alright then.

Two times the disc couldn't be read. Then it finally goes through to the main screen and now it's just sitting on a panoramic view of the island after asking if I want to create a new save file. Did it again when it loaded a second time.

Anyone else on the Xbox having this problem?

I think some people have had that problem, it just takes a while. I'm on PC and didn't have anything like that. It's been silky smooth for me.

It's all fucked up for consoles right now.

I have it on PC, and play in windowed mode, so I just alt-tab for cutscenes and they continue to play in the background but I don't have to hear them.

They are having problems with the servers. If you are signed into Xbox Live you wont' get past the loading screen. You'll need to sign out until they give the all clear.

Man this game is good. Unlocked the wreck blipper thing. It brings up an icon and starts beeping when you're near a wreck. The closer you get to the wreck, the quicker the blips sound off.

Also found the Atom. Was gonna buy it but had to sell one of the Mustangs and fuck that. So I bought a new house instead. Except then I needed more money and so I bought the Range rover for the off road races. But then I won the Miami-o-Mobile and now I've filled the other garage up D:

I will get you Atom, mark my words! Loved the way they handle speed trap in this game with all the racers out on the field in one go. So chaotic.

I quite like the powersliding in the offroad races. And yes, I meant Tess. She did try to get you fired remember.

ALso, I'm going to Hawaii bitches! Finally. Bought an Audi TT, not the roadster though as I needed a class A6 for the championship. Also also, there's a real easy instant stranger challenge that nets you $30K. All you do is deliver a Ferrari 3.3 miles. That's it.

Hmm, so the fact that other human racers can make contact with you in free-ride mode is something which strikes up one of my pet peeves - gameplay decisions based on optimism. It's the same reason I don't like 'Push button to be ready' systems in multiplayer, because of G.I.F.T. I haven't had much of a chance to play this game yet, but I've been reading about people being pushed into the ocean and generally griefed. Guess there's only one way to find out!

Also, it should be noted that I'm grateful that the Esprit is one of the starting cars, enjoying it so far.

    EDIT: Giantbomb quick look

Partway through it, it's pretty funny so far.

You're in luck then Paperluigi. Go to options, gameplay settings and uncheck 'online interactions'. It'll stop anyone showing up in your game, and replace replace those with A.I players who don't grief. Took new a while to realise they wereA AI players, kept wondering why someone would name themselves Tess.

And i should finally be getting the Atom tonight. New Hawaii garage offers two additional spaces. Also this game is so addictive. Finished playing at 4 am last night, could have been much later had the online worked. Tried getting into a game with Sir carcass bus sadly it wouldn't work really wanna get a club going.

In on my phone so i can't view it, which if it? I did one really cool one that involved taking a woman to the hospital. She's nauseous so any braking, steering, jumps or crashes trigger the 'volt-meter'. You can go fast on a straight but the harsh breaking will mess you up. It was actually really nice driving slow and smoothly.

Another involved trailing a woman's because her boyfriend thinks she's cheating on him. Theres also the Woody Allen sounding workaholic who's late for a meeting. Basically i dig the new stuff

Ah, I meant they challenge another online player to a race.

Howeeeeever I just booted it up and the game won't get past the start screen, I press start and it just endlessly loops through the different images, are the servers still down or what (on 360)?

SO the game is currently unplayable as the servers are down. It won't allow the player to login at all. (On PC btw). This is a widespread issue amongst all players. No announcement has been made on the official forums either regarding this downtime. Silly Eden. I really don't want to start an offline game.

Yeah, I think the servers went down at some point last night but I didn't notice until I tried to edit my profile before quitting for the night.

And Isy, I'm not crazy, I was hearing people on their mics. It's a feature, but one that largely seems useless as I couldn't understand anyone. I wonder if you can set up rooms and stuff, or only hear your clubmates.

Okay, I'm getting the Servers are Down error when trying to play, even though it says they're up on the launcher. This is almost a deal breaker. I can see absolutely no reason to not allow you to play the single-player stuff with your online profile if you can't log in. I'm confident they're working to address it, but it's pretty crappy that I either have to start over or play something else in the meantime.

Yeah, they'd better allow you to convert an online profile to an offline one or... it'll suck. Don't know how much outrage there would be at that point.

I'm glad they're proud of their online stuff, but it's just the wrong way to go about it, especially since you can play offline if the servers go down while you're already playing.

Yeah, I've been swapping back and forth between the Audi and the rover. They're both awesome. The rover is great for any driving a person around type missions that involve going offroad.

    The S5 is a beast.

I need to go back and do the A7 tournament. I am getting slapped around in races, moreso than I remember from tdu1. The b7 offroad ones seem really easy by comparison.

I think I skipped a class in buying the Audi, though. Maybe I can save money and get the TTS as well. Of course, that would require a third house ... Oof

Raced some dude in an Ariel atom vs S5 last night. As soon as we hit some tight curves it was game over for me. Need one of those or a caterham. :p
