So one of the biggest surprises I had as a first time attendee at PAX Prime was the unbelievably kind, helpful WoW: TCG players and the overall addictiveness of the WoW: TCG tournaments. I was a bit skeptical about spending upwards to $60-70 buying a starter deck/booster packs and paying for the one time entrance fee, but I'm glad I did -- I learned how to play from some of the most talented players in the US all while having a damn good time. Heck, one could probably spend their entire weekend perfecting their deck and trading with other players if they so desired. My question is: How many of you will be spending a good deal of time playing the WoW TCG at PAX East?

Rules haven't changed too much just new cards bring new rules and occasional rule change to keep things balanced as result. This goes for any TCG though, in the end i am sure if you wanted a refresher course you will find people willing to explain it too you.

There were a ton of new players at PAX West, I wouldn't be too worried. I'd be happy to play some ranked games with you, you receive free cards after every game.
All over it like a fat guy on a highly addictive time/cash sink!

The league is ten bucks, can't remember how much I paid for the starter deck, but you get a discount on it and a few extra starter packs I believe.
Newbies! Prepare yourselves and read this: http://www.cryptozoic.com/files/wow_quickstartguide.pdf It will teach you everything you need to know about the card game.

Also, Beginner Tournaments are $10. You receive a starter deck and play in a 4-person pod. You receive a booster pack after each match, win or lose. These events start at 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, and 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 on Sunday.
Hmm, difficult times. I'll be up for one of the earlier slots on the Sunday, but the Friday/Saturday times are prime concert queue time.
Will there be anything more beginner orientated during the first two days, even if not formal tourneys?

Though I feel like my Alliance mage deck is going to get spanked D= Hopefully that isn't the case.
