Hey all, this is a really difficult thing for me to put up but I know this community can be really helpful at times and I'm running out of options at this point. I adopted a dog from a local shelter last September and I'm trying to find a new home for her. She is
extremely high energy and I do not have enough time in the day to devote to her. It's getting really frustrating for the dog, the people I live with, and myself.
I'm hoping there might be a slim chance that someone here would be interested in adopting her or know someone that would. She would benefit bigtime from living somewhere with a yard and/or another dog as well as someone who can spend lots of time with her.
It breaks my heart to have to do something like this and I feel like a super-douche, but I would feel even worse about having to take her back to a shelter. She is an absolute sweetheart, I have never seen her be mean towards any other person or animal, she is very well socialized with other dogs, and basically just wants to play with everything that walks on legs.
If there's anyone that thinks they could give her a chance, please let me know as soon as possible and we can talk more about about her. I'm willing to pay for any relocation fees and also ship over her pile of toys.
Her name is Cougar by the way...
Edits: I live in Los Angeles but shipping her within the US is not an issue, I'd rather pay for her to go on an airplane to a good home if that means avoiding going back to the shelter. I take her on a 4 mile run every day but she still runs around the house like a crazy lunatic afterwards just to give you an idea of what kind of energy levels we're talking about. She's also around 1 year old.

I have a friend that works at Healthy Spot in Santa Monica, it's a pet store/doggie daycare. The address is:
1110 Wilshire Boulevard
Santa Monica, CA 90401
(310) 458-2004 Tel
(310) 458-2109 Fax

If you can go there with this information, they will definitely hook you up with 1 of 3 things:
1. An owner for the dog.
2. An organization that takes in dogs and adopts them out, with no animal cruelty or euthanasia.
3. Maybe a foster owner.
If you can take Cougar there, that would be even more awesome. Ask for Tina there, she's my friend and the store manager, and she has a heart that is super huge.
If Santa Monica is too far, you can go to the one in Hollywood, and ask for Dru. He's one of the owners. They do dog adoptions every Saturday too!
I hope this helps man, and know that making sure a dog has a happy healthy home is #1. There are tons of people who realize they can no longer take care of a dog, and do the wrong thing by neglecting them. You are doing the right thing.
Oh, by the way, if they ask who told you to go there, my name is Chad.
Kudos to you for being rad.
I love this community man, seriously.
