Help finding a song from who knows when

So I was dredging the dark depths of one of my portable drives earlier, as I was recently forced to a complete system wipe. While doing so, I found a text file of incomplete lyrics to a song I was apparently trying to piece together by listening to the song over and over. Knowing me, I wouldn't do this unless I enjoyed the song; however, I have no idea what the song is. I titled the file 'heartache' but I don't know if that's actually the name of the song.

Anyhow, here are the lyrics
???
???
if you don't have money and you don't have time
then you don't have much at all
it's a long way from being let down
stop blaming the night?
maybe one day you'll see I'm right
'cause if you don't have music and you don't have soul
then you don't have a reason to fight
but you're a long way from being let down
how you gonna see me as I watch you drown

It's your lifetime
Nobody's watching you
It's your life
No one cares
As your soul starts tearing away from you
Did you even see me with your head in the sand

Don't wanna see you jump under a car
???
No one wants to see you, no one wants to be you
No one wants you stuck where you are
It's a long way from being let down
Don't you worry about a thing
???
'Cause everyone's got their cross to bear
Everyone's got something
And you're a long way from being let down
How you gonna see me when I watch you drown

It's your lifetime
Nobody's watching you
It's your life
No one cares
As your soul starts tearing away from you
Did you even see me with your head in the sand

It's your lifetime
Nobody's watching you
It's your life
No one cares
As your soul starts tearing away from you
Did you even see me with your head in the sand

It's your lifetime
Nobody's watching you
It's your life
No one cares
As your soul starts tearing away from you
Did you even see me with your head in the sand

I can't guarantee the accuracy of the lyrics, though I suspect that if they're not right, they're pretty close.

Any help would be appreciated.

In a testament to how badass Google is, I googled your lyrics one line at a time, and the first result to nearly every search brought me back to your post only 28 minutes after you made it.

. . . which leads me to believe that possibly you wrote it. I've encountered some old poetry/lyrics that I wrote way back in high school on my old external HDD that I had (thankfully) unremembered under similar file names such as "Crumbled", "Downhill from You", etc. I'd punch my high school self if I ever saw him, but I digress.

I know that''s not much help, but it's all I got. Good luck.

Yeah I know, Google has nothing on it. However, I know for a fact that I didn't write it. I'm just not the creative type; I've never even attempted to write a song or a poem, as it just doesn't hold any interest for me. And the fact that it doesn't show up on Google just makes me more sure that I was trying to transcribe it from a song, as I wouldn't bother doing that if the lyrics were readily available.

Might it be "If I Can't Have You" by Kubb? This is the closest thing I could find (beware popups!)

you said you listened to it over and over, do you remember where you listened to it?

    what year?

    wook....

    maybe you were translating something?

i.e. the original lyrics are maybe french or german?

edit: no that would be odd, since most of it rhymes.

Terrendos - that's not it, but thanks

Rane - the file was last touched 2005. My guess is sometime in 2004/2005. I think I probably listened to it on some streaming site somewhere in the known internet. And I think it was an indie rock style of song.

Gonna guess it might be one of those indie songs that were posted at Flying Stove? We didn't have names for all of them.

Ask iplaybass or Mori about it?

seems really weird that in this day and age, even IF it's some nothing band with absolutely no presence in the mainstream, that their song or lyrics aren't online

and yet searching each of the lyrics though google yields absolutely nothing

    weird!
