We have a client that is giving us a new project that wants the web application to be run "in the clouds". However they have a strict data requirement that the data must be housed in Canada.. so that throws EC2 out the window. I don't have much experience with cloud computing, only a little bit with Amazon's service.. Does anyone know if there is something similar (although I am sure way smaller) that their data centeres are physically located in Canada?
I found this through Google, but I can't vouch for it in any way. IBM also apparently opened a cloud computing center in Canada as well.
Please note that renting time in a cloud service is not exactly cheap. Factor that into your project pricing from the beginning if you're going to go in that direction.
Thanks. I did actually come across that IBM thing later this afternoon; think I will look into that further.
And it is a government contract, so pricing really isn't an issue.
