Other than bad relationships, my other favorite thing is pets so i want to open a discussion on pets.

Name(s): Lotto, Ivor, Midge, Belle and Happy

Species: 4 dogs and a goat

Previous species owned: an injured phesent, chickens, horses, sheep, an orphaned baby wild rabbit, domesticated rabbits, often frogs and several species of insects, cats, dogs, i had a wild mouse in a disused feed bin i used to bring food and water to, pidgions, geese, ducks, peacocks, budgies, canaries, a robbin, i was feeding a deer for awhile and i had a wren in my room for the winter once who used to sleep at the end of my bed

Favorite things: digging holes in places that i will fall into when locking up in the dark, sneaking up on me when i'm concentrating on something and causing me injury, jumping on me when i am wearing good clothes i want to keep clean and sheading on the furniture. The goat likes to invade the neighbors gardens and lay waste to their shrubbery. Also we have great fun together when we go drinking back the fields in the summer (me and my friends accompanied by my pets, the animals don't drink)

Favorite food: the dogs like crisps (potato chips for the Americans), boiled minced meat with grain and bread, for some reason lotto likes carrots, red mills star (a dog food). The goat likes bread but his favorite is bananas or turnips

Breed(s): 3 White Shepherds, a mixed breed gun dog and a British Alpine goat

Age(s): Lotto is 5, Ivor is 4, Belle is 2 and Happy the goat is 16 (goats generally only live to be 8 to 10 years old)

Unofficial forum rule: discussions of pets must include pictures of said pets.

You may ignore this rule if your pet is ugly, like a chinese crested dog or a human in a fursuit.

You have to link to the actual image, not the Facebook page the image is on. In Firefox for Windows, this is accomplished by right-clicking and going "Copy Image Location." Your computer may vary.

BTW, edit out the links you already posted because they point directly to your Facebook page with your name and everything.

This is Daeg Waedos, easily the best present I've ever recieved. He'll be 5 later this year. We were already preparing to get a cat, and a friend of mine's cat had just had a litter. I was round his place one night and had a look at the kittens, and found one I really liked. I asked if he was taken, and my friend replied that the whole litter was already accounted for.

Then, a couple of weeks later, my girlfriend and her family turn up on Christmas Eve with the kitten I was interested in. Turned out my parents, my girlfriend and the friend with the mother had conspired together on this. They'd actually been paying very close attention to which kittens I liked, hahaha.

The vets seem to think he has some Bengal cat in him somewhere, apparently his markings, general look and mannerisms lead them to think that. That's kinda cool. He's pretty much everything I could ask for in a cat, except for him fairly often throwing up on my bed and carpet.

Anyway, photos! These are all pretty old, but I haven't had any coffee yet so I don't feel like uploading newer ones.

It's usually after he's either eaten some of his food, which is typically fine for him and it's high end vet's choice food (we only give him dry food), or chomping on some grass.

The vets think it's probably just eating grass and maybe finding the odd extra bit of whatever to scrounge up. He also might be a bit affected by dust as he seems to cough a bit before throwing up. He doesn't really do it that often, but it's often enough at a really bad time (I'm right about to go to bed, go out, etc) so it's a bit of a pain.

I have a 3 year old one-eyed rabbit. Her name is Geronimo, because she was raised as a male until the first time she had to go to the vet.

    mar10001-1.jpg
    geronimo02.jpg
    apr10008.jpg
    jun10geronimo013.jpg

She was born with both eyes, but developed an infection in her right eye late in her first year. Medication didn't really help, so it had to come out. She gets along very well with just the one eye. She'll occasionally run into my feet when I'm walking across the room, but that could just be a homicidal/suicidal streak.

She enjoys chewing on whatever is within reach, and being petted.

My god that is a cute bunny!

Here is my family of furred ones.

First is Fizban. I got him my first year of college and we named him thus as when he was a kitten his chest marking made it look like he had a long white beard and he always looked confused.
    03June2006166.jpg
Next is my house bun Stasha. She is a 4 year old Polish dwarf. Unfourtunatly since she was a show bun she is not well house trained or socialized, however she does get supervised running time everyday and I love that she is box trained in her cage so I don't have to change the entire cage.
    005.jpg

Now the next group are kind of shared pets. They live in my garage and my daughter and I take care of them, however they are a friends of ours and are what is left of her rabbitry as she is now getting ready to raise a human. But I love the 8 guys so much and am looking forward to breeding and showing in a smal scale myself.

Navy - Solid Blue Polish Dwarf Really is an awesome little guy, great personallity and rooms next to Hershey
    020.jpg
Denial - Solid Black Polish Dwarf, ARBA Grand Champion He's getting a bit grey around the nose but he knows he's so damn hot!

Blackie Chan - Solid Black Polish Dwarf (Her husband named him!)
    BlackieChan.jpg
Hershey - Broken Chocolate Polish Dwarf ARBA Grand Champion (And refusing all attempts at being bred to D)
    Hershey.jpg
Purdee - Broken Black Polish Dwarf - getting kinda fat she will be having more outside run time when it not so wet out.
    Purdee.jpg
Mars - Solid Chocolate Polish Dwarf. She is so sweet and docile. Has slmost been moved into the house a few times.
    Mars.jpg
KitKat - Solid Chocolate Polish Dwarf Awesome Momma. Even though she didn't take this last round, she made a great nest and never once fouled it!
    KitKat.jpg
Lara - Broken Black Polish Dwarf. Neurotic to the core, incedentaly also the dam of Stasha, who is also a bit nuts but fit into the family well.

Alright, so my fiance got herself a small dog, which I knew she would love but I had no interest in. So he is of course my favorite animal of all time. He's got all the benefits and ease of management of a cat, but a totally lovable, toy fetching, bone chewing dog personality. And he snuggles like a mother-fucker, keeping you warm on Christmas morning. Plus he's adorable:

    As a puppy:

I think I've posted these pictures before but what the hell.

Delilah, who is getting kinda fat and who still can't meow properly. She likes fuss.

    2008archive076.jpg

Blofeld, who is less fat but has a range of snores and meows that manage to express a wide range of variations on 'Attention, puny humans'. He is less keen on fuss, but has learned to not struggle so much when the missus picks him up and hugs him without mercy.

    2008archive022.jpg

We got them just over twelve years ago, six weeks after moving in together. We were only going to get one, but decided while we were picking from the litter to get two, so each would have a playmate while we were at work. 'Lilah attempting to climb the curtains while we were mulling over our options sealed it for us.

    Kitties!

    Here are my two fluffballs.

    Felix (left) and Max (right).
    maxfelix.png

I named them after characters in the Gotrek and Felix novels (Felix Jaeger, Maximillian Schreiber), which I was reading when I got them in 2005.

I frequently refer to Max as "the Maximum Cat", as he is rather aggressively affectionate and has a non-stop motor of a purr. He also knocks Felix out of the way when we pet him.

Felix is the Ninja, as he somehow gets into closets and rooms when the doors or closed. We "lost" him one afternoon, only to find him blissfully sleeping on my wife's clothes in a closet. He also snuck out of the house once (they're indoor cats) and tried to follow us to a neighbor's house (we found him in the bushes on the way home).

They are large cats, and I like to think they are Norweigan Forest Cats, or at least Maine Coon.

They both currently hate me as they went in for a dental appointment yesterday, and I had to give them antibiotics in the mouth this morning (requires practically sitting on the cat).

The Furminator is the best invention ever, and makes brushing them so much easier. And somehow my wife managed to convince the cats that they like the Furminator, so I don't have to chase them around the house any more when trying to brush them.

I just googled this thing- I'd never heard of it before. Daeg doesn't shed much, but in the few places he does shed he sheds a LOT. How regularly do you have to use it on your cats?

This is exactly the look I imagine every cat has.

And this thread works to my advantage as the GF and I just got a puppy this past sunday.

Behold, the cuteness that is Malone

He's a Papillon Shih Tzu mix, and like I imagine most puppies are, he can be a bit of a handful, but I'm happy to have him.

We could probably brush them every day and get some hair off, but as it is we generally average about twice a week. It relaxes them so much now that I trim their nails when we're done brushing.

Both of them used to have really bad matting problems, but frequent use of the furminator has sort of cleared that up.

Did you have any problems getting your cats used to being furminated? we've got two cats and have tried the furminator in the past, but they both only last a minute before getting overstimulated and being too hard to control.
