So, I was reading up on ATi/AMD's new version of the catalyst control center, and it looks pretty sweet. I previously swore off ATi GPUs because I always had issues dual booting linux with them. However, I've been out of the game for quite some time, and this new Linux-based control center looks ridiculously user-friendly. How well is nVidia's linux support at this point in time?
There's a chance that this could determine what brand of GPU my next machine will have. I'll be building primarily a gaming rig, but I really want to build my linux experience as I go further into my CIS studies.
As far as I know, nVidia is still the only choice for usable Linux drivers. It doesn't really matter how user-friendly the control software is, if it doesn't work or gives very low performance. Chances are that if you wait a few weeks, there will be plenty of information about the quality of the drivers.
