Why wouldn't it work like any other Steam game? I seriously doubt you'll be able to trade in a used copy. Once you tie the key to your Steam account (and linked PSN account) you'll own the game forever

People still expect to be able to play a console game if they have a copy of a console game.
That's not changing for a while.

I don't really get why a no-trade-in policy is so bad. There is probably a very small percentage of gamers that would be very upset about it, and I don't think Valve is going to count it as a loss.
I just don't get all the fuss. So we can't trade in our PS3 copy? Oh darn!
I figured that you can still trade in used Portal 2, you just can't use it to link your PSN account to Steam and get a Steam copy. I don't think Sony is quite at the point where a physical copy of the game can only be played on a single machine.

If you couldn't trade it in Gamestop would straight up not carry the game.
Did I miss anything by watching that without sound? I laughed at the end even sans-sound, but I just wanted to know if I need to rewatch it when I get home.

The narrator (himself/herself) is actually a character that you might not actually know about.
It's not an incredibly huge spoiler though, especially if you know a little about Portal's backstory.
I suppose for those wanting to go in knowing absolutely nothing except, "It's the sequel to Portal", maybe it'd be an issue. At that point though, I'd say it's best just to avoid the Portal thread entirely ;-)

So far, it seems like nothing will.

That's what I was trying to figure out. I didn't know if it was just multiplayer or the entire game that was locked to one user on PS3.
I'm going to try and do the coop campaign first, if my partner is available when it's unlocked (and I'm not working).
I'll get to grips with two sets of Portals getting thrown around once I've re-acquainted myself with the first set.

Not until the next round of consoles at least.

Why? You can't trade in PC games and they still sell those, even if they don't have a very large selection.
Why do you think that section has been shrinking out of existence? More often than not physical GS locations flat out don't carry PC titles.
Yeah, that is true...
Well I guess I'll wait and see what Valve announces. I know I'll never trade in my PS3 copy, so I'm not too worried.

Valve are good at awesome.

Quite a bit, it's narrated by Cave Johnson.
Narrated quite well by Cave Johnson.
Very well, actually.
In fact, I'd say narrated the best!
I bet half the roles are written with him in mind. Cave Johnson had his exact voice as I read the lines we found a while ago.
Considering Valve has said those lines were intended for a strong southern accent, I'm going to have to disagree with you there.

Yeah I was actually really taken back when I heard his voice because that was what I was expecting (the southern accent)
Valve are one of the best at awesome. So glad they're doing their own stuff now.
I would like to watch the awesome, but I'm trying to maintain a media blackout of sorts.

Yeah, it's pretty obviously just stuff made for the ad itself. I'd be surprised if any of it is referenced in the story.

Shocking twist, I know. ;-)
I had no idea!
Well that falls into the half that weren't written for him, so my point stands! Ha!

Hopefully I have money in my account when it comes out. It's gonna be close.
