I mean, reapers can still be super effective. I see them all the time in PvT, Terrans get one out to scout out my base and harass my workers a bit. It's obviously not as effective as it used to be, but god damn that was infuriating.
Even mid game, 3 reapers can be incredibly effective at harassing a mineral line.

Its actually still effective precisely because its not as effective as it used to be.
Its unexpected. That said, you can either pressure with early marauders or get a reaper in their base, you can't do both. Having one less marauder because you made a reaper makes things easy for the Protoss to hold.
Not to discourage scouting, because it is a skill you should learn - if only to spot early pressure/rush builds, but you don't need to scout to get out of bronze.
I'm pretty famous in my circle of friends for never scouting. Scouting with drones? Fuck that. Who needs that? I'll usually just hover my overlord over their natural. And once I have a few lings out, I'll run one up the ramp. But before that? Fuck no.
but scouting is so useful

I'm not getting the hate-on for kellymilkes or whatever she is called.
Some accent, but sounds decent from the one cast I'm hearing. Compared to most of the streams around it's pretty good. And if she has some technical knowledge that would make it decent, better than 95% of other casters. Ragequit are terrible, GLHF can make anything boring, and ICCUP is decent.
TB would have been excellent as he makes anything fun, but I recall him having reasons for not being able/wanting to do it :P.
TL is dropping bombs in the Kellymilkies thread as per usual:
People fail to realize this is a JOB, and she will get PAID for this. In real life people just don`t get the job if they are that bad at what they`re supposed to be doing, but whatever, not like internet thugs know anything about that.

The hate-on for kellymilkies is twofold
1) yes her accent is really fucking annoying. You can call it racist you can call it whatever you want but there's a reason certain types of voices are selected for radio and commentary roles in other areas and GSL should be no different
2) She gets far too excited about dumb things, doesn't know what is happening a large portion of the time and has basically zero professionalism, talking about random crap all the time. And I'm not talking about funny Tasteless/Artosis random crap when there's nothing else going on,I mean she just says something and you think "What the hell? Talk about the game. There is things happening!"
I'll find an example of what I mean for that second point.

I think what many people are wondering is if GOMTV realises just how annoying she is to listen to as an English viewer.

Somewhere in those thirty minutes one of the casters left, too, iirc.

I'm not expecting perfect diction from everyone GOM hires for English commentary, but (even though it's probably uncharitable of me) I expect someone who can at least speak it clearly if I'm going to drop money on it. I would think that this would be even more important to GOM considering their foreigner stream is hitting all over the world, and there has to be a common denominator of what the listeners in various countries are expecting to hear.
Think of it this way--it's somewhat of an effort for some _fluent_ people to understand her clearly; how are non-native speakers going to navigate that Singlish?
EDIT: That WC3 game made me instantly hate everyone involved. Casters, Grubby, the Blizzard team that made it. Rage.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to hold off on a season ticket to GSL for the new season until I see this casting. 90% of what I was excited about was the Code A matches with the new foreigners in town, and I'm going to reserve final judgement.
That said, if she doesn't take speaking lessons or coaching of some sort to lessen her accent and improve her English to the point where it is actually English and not Singlish, I predict I'm going to have it muted or watch the korean stream.
Whoever came up with the idea of those colors should be shot. You can't read shit.

...really? It was the chess equivalent of a guy pacing around the chessboard for half an hour and trying to swipe pieces one at a time while the other guy fell asleep.
So I'm bored and was musing.... in PvP, immortal/Phoenix would be a LOT more viable if you had a gold expansion. Might be an interesting trick to pull out of the hat occasionally.
Sorry guys I suck and lost the build order custom game thinger and the build order for Protoss (the only one I will ever need) what are they? I haven't played this game since beta really and I want to get back into it while Day9 holds my hand.
Koreans are terrible at English, like it is a foreign concept or something. They pronounce everything wrong proudly, no matter how many times you correct them.

There's nothing special about a Gold, you get roughly the same income from it once saturated as you do a saturated blue, it just takes a few less workers to saturate. Terran is an exception because MULEs get even more minerals, but for the other races its just essentially an expansion that gets up and running sooner.
I'm proud to say I don't really know any "BO" per say.
Might be a big reason why I'm not Masters yet, but I'm OK with that.
Just play it like it was chess, on crack.
you can do this with zerg though because aside from hatchery, gas, and pool timing, zerg doesn't really have any non-allin BOs.
I'd argue that you absolute need a set of well-executed BOs for zerg because you need precise reactions to early aggression and all-ins. For example, if you 14 hatch against ZvT, you need to hit the maynard timing on your natural along with a spine and lings to defend a bunker rush without falling behind.

Well those BOs aren't really the kind of BOs that Protoss and Terran have, the Zerg "builds" are more a collection of preprogrammed reactions that you execute on autopilot when seeing certain things.

But... that's exactly what makes it attractive and useful in such a scenario? It takes less workers to saturate the base, therefore you receive the maximum income at a much faster rate. In Phoenix/Immortal builds, The really prohibitive feature is the mineral cost of the immortals.

Sure. That's why I said set of BOs. They still require the same precise execution that a protoss or terran BO requires to be successful. That's what I think is the true forcing function of a "build order" rather than just being a static to do list.

Its not that significant an amount of workers, is my point. Not enough to the point where you're suddenly going to have all these hundreds of extra minerlas.
