Some of you may remember us as the crew that produced Season 1 of "Penny Arcade: The Series" and "Reformat the Planet." Once our PATV era came to an end, we began to map out our next step and planned to produce a gaming/tech documentary series of our own. For the pilot, we traveled to Sweden and made a 20-minute short about the first week in the life of Mojang, the development house built upon the financial success of Minecraft.
As it came together, we realized that a series wasn't the answer. Not now, at any rate. Instead, we had a rare opportunity to document the entire first year of a high-profile studio that already had a smash hit to its name. This, however, is an exceedingly costly endeavor and we want to do right by the game we love so much.
To that end, we've decided to launch a fundraising campaign that reaches out to the fan community because you guys get why Minecraft matters. If we hit our goal within the next 32 days, the movie is a go and will come out next year! If we don't, your donation never leaves your bank account and the project dies on the table T___T.
To express our gratitude, we're offering some unique Minecraft rewards that include (but are not limited to) a Creeper wind-up toy, a print of an in-game landscape autographed by Notch, and a real pickaxe that's mounted on a display plaque signed by the whole Mojang team. For a full list of rewards, project details, and a link to the full 20-minute piece, please visit us at:

I would actually be very interested in the specifics of Mojang's finances, and Sweden's taxes.
Alas my work computer appears to be blocking your donation link, so I'll take a gander at it tonight
