I still think Mega Mall Story was my favorite Kairosoft game. I think it was the sim tower aspect. I enjoyed venture town, but did not really get the school one, and grand prix story just seemed a drag.
I haven't enjoyed any of them since Game Dev Story. All the others seem overly complex and poorly explained. I spent over an hour fucking around in the school one and had no idea what I was doing at all. Same with Grand Prix. I never tried Venture Town, though.
Mega Mall Story is not to be missed.
Oh yeah, I haven't played that one either. I'll give it a shot.
Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust
So which free iPad games should I look into once my iPad arrives? Not "free" games where you get a level or two and then have to buy the rest, but games that are actually free. Or free games that have IAP's for non-essentials like extra gold or worthless cosmetic items.

I can't really check the prices very well since it just has an "install" or update button in the store for the games I already have, but off the top of my head: Jetpack joyride, assassin's creed recollection, pinball HD (though that's kinda the buy extra levels thing), maybe bejeweled blitz?
Oh yeah, Zynga (ugh) bought out drop7 and had a free version, which just has ads, and a bit worse visuals.

Free games kinda come and go on the App Store. The best games typically go free as a promotion of sorts, then go back to being paid. I'd suggest looking at FAAD freeappaday.com as much as possible. I find that's really the best place to find free apps. If I can remember, I check it everyday because literally they may only go free for one day.

If I just have an iPhone, do I need to get the 5 dollar version of Superbrothers: Sword and Sorcery or can I just get the 3 dollar version?
Depends. I want to say that the Retina Display version might apply to iPad AND iPhone 4/4s.
Also, since this thread is a few pages from finishing, and Lunker is still away, I might just shut it down early and whip up a nice new OP tonight so it'll be ready for the new hardware launch in a week.

No complaints about this from me. The iPad section is definitely out of date now. Might not be a bad idea to have some resource links to places like AppShopper and TouchArcade, as well.

As a newbie to these parts, I'd find that pretty useful. Usually find the opinions of this forum > internet when it comes to games.

I now have like 15 games going. Loving it but I kinda suck
