Study Music?

So recently, I've run out of music for me to study with. That means I can no longer concentrate, and my attempts to study would be completely destroyed by something like: "Oh look, my pencil is orange." which would then lead to me staring at my pencil for the next couple of minutes until I found something else to stall my studying with.

The point is: Does anybody know of some good study music?

I guess it depends on what helps you study. Some people like to listen to classical while studying, some people like to listen to metal. Can you list some of the stuff you currently listen to while studying?

You might also try going to Last.fm or Pandora. They are free and will find music similar to what ever you tell them to look for. I prefer Pandora for a task like this, because it lets you build a playlist based on multiple songs and artists, while Last.fm will just let you use 1 artist as the criteria.

I listened pretty solidly to classical when i was finishing up my degree last summer. nearly anything and everything i could get my hands on.

university however was more like rob zombie, korn, and kid rock. So it's more what you are particularly into.

I've found that there's a fine line between music I can focus to and music that puts me to sleep. Your mileage may vary.

The Riverdance soundtrack. Minimal vocals and it's got strong, fast rhythms, which help keep the mind active and the heart rate up.

Minus the bear has always been my go to study music...Its like background music that you know is there but somehow seemlessly blends together so it seems like the same song has been playing for a half hour but you ended up listening to the entire album.

Its hard to describe it when you use it at a lower level volume for studying...its there, but it isn't.

I don't have to study anymore, but I work as an editor, and I find myself getting distracted by lyrics if I try to listen to music while working. Instrumental soundtracks are okay but what really works for me is metal in languages I do not understand. It's enough to keep me awake and entertained but I have no idea what they're saying so I'm not trying to process words on the screen and words in my ears at the same time.

I once passed (with a high grade!) a lab practical for assembly programming without any textbook and only the online notes (because I slept in that morning and didn't know we could use them) to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack.

Take that as you will, but it became my new study music.

Anytime I had to get work done in college I put on the Lord of the Rings soundtracks and it worked great.

22tracks.com has a good mix of stations to pop around while studying. Beats and Relax would be the most fitting for this.
