Cool short religious passages \ stories \ text to illustrate?

Hey. So, I'm an artist studying abroad right now in Italy. I'm about to start a project where I want to illustrate a short religious passage or story or just a short block of text.

Normally I would just go through the books I own or just go to a book store and look around, but like I said, I'm in Italy, so my books are at home and the book stores are in Italian. Also, I just thought that someone here might have something interesting I might have not thought of.

So yeah, any favorite bible passage? Something particularly short and badass? I'm interested.

This is my stuff, I felt it might be relevant to see it:

Thanks dudes.

There's always the defeat of Mara.

Or, my personal favorite, the river of fire; river of water.

    Good luck!

It's a "vision" and "didn't really happen" but I've always been fond of Ezekiel and the Valley of Dry Bones (Ezekiel 37)

I don't know how easy it would be to animate or draw, but when the Philistines had captured the Ark of the Covenant was a pretty awesome story. (1 Samuel 5&6. Be sure to read 6 also if you follow my link)

I've always liked The Canaanite Woman, partly because it exposes the humanity of Jesus. There are a few paintings of this story as well, to give you some ideas.

The story of Bel from Bel and the Dragon is a cool little pseudo-detective-story that I've always wished got more press.

I think that there are alot of good stories to illustrate in Revelations. All the end-of-the-world stuff. There are alot of good blocks of text in there, and pretty descriptive, so drawing one would be easy. I think theres a bit of action in there too, if memory serves. Jesus wielding a sword perhaps? Anyways, thats my advice.

The Book of Daniel contains a lot of stuff that could be visually interesting: the Idol of Four Metals, Nebuchadnezzar's dream, the fiery letters on Belshazzar's wall, the Prophets in the Furnace, the Lions' Den, the Great Beasts, visions of the Apocalypse...
