MacBook Pro Hard Drive Upgrade, now won't boot.

Really at a loss here as I've done this before and had no issues at all.

I did the following:

Manual backup to external disk using Time Machine

Shut down

Remove old drive, install new drive.

Boot from MacOS DVD

Partition new drive

Restore backup from Time Machine

The system comes up and I get the Apple logo with a whirlygig under it and that's it. I left the laptop sitting all night in case it was just being slow about it, but it never did anything else.

I put the old drive back in and everything works fine. Doing another TIme Machine backup and going to try the whole procedure again.

Second attempt worked. Not sure what was wrong the first time.

Upgraded to one of those Seagate 500gb hybrid-SSD drives.
