Need help finding your hotel next week? The Boston Ambassadors are here to help!

Greetings!

Boston can be a confusing place to navigate if you've never been here before. Even those of us who know the city well have gotten lost on the T at least once. Because of this, I'd like to announce a service that I and a small group of Enforcers are offering for out-of-towners coming to PAX.

During the days leading up to PAX (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), we will be offering “guide” services from major ports of entry (Logan, South Station, North Station, etc) to local hotels. Some of us have cars and some of us ride the T like a pro. Either way, the Boston Ambassadors are here to help you get to your destination.

How it works

1.You compare your arrival schedule to the timetable below.
2.If you see an open slot that works with your arrival time, PM me AND post here with the day, group number, the hotel you are going to and your cell number (just give me your number, don't post it here).
3.Once I've read your message (I'll be checking here pretty often), I will add your name to the list for that time slot.
4.Upon confirmation, you will receive the contact info for your designated Ambassador so you can communicate on your day of arrival.
5.When you get into town, get in touch with your Ambassador to coordinate a specific meeting point. You might have to wait a while or walk a little ways depending on your location relative to the rest of the group.
6.You and your group make your way into the city, stopping at all necessary points until you reach your individual destinations.

To clarify:

What this is:
-A free service to help you get to your hotel when you arrive in Boston.

What this isn't:
-An official Penny Arcade service. We are not in any way sponsored by PA. This is being done entirely on our own volition. Please do not contact PA officials about this. They won't know what you're talking about.
-Your private chauffeur service. This is a group event with multiple stops along the way. We're here to help but please don't expect us to hold your hand all the way to your room.
-Spots are limited and we'd like to help those who really don't know the city. If you can afford a cab or can manage the T on your own, please allow other people to claim a spot.

Bad Weather Policy
If you were not already aware, the Seaport (where the BCEC and a lot of hotels are) is a pretty open area. Public transportation can get you only so close to your hotel. Walking will be inevitable if you don't want to take a cab. In the event of a snow storm or torrential downpour, taking a stroll at the end of your journey may not be the most enjoyable or advisable activity. Hopefully weather will be a non-issue but, if it isn't, I will leave it up to the individual Ambassadors to decide how far they want to escort you, if at all. If your group gets canceled, you will be notified via cell call or text.

THE GROUPS

All times are the DEPARTURE time so please meet your Ambassador before then. Unless otherwise noted, groups will be taking the T and final destinations will be the hotels in the Seaport. Destinations in other parts of the city can be accommodated within reason. All schedules are subject to change based on availability and popularity.

Final Notes:

Remember to post in this thread and PM me with all the information listed above.

As mentioned before, the schedule can be modified if there is enough popularity for a different time. For instance, if 3 people are arriving into Logan on Wednesday at 8:00 pm and nobody signs up for Group 6 (leaving at 7), I will change the departure time to suit that group. The same goes for departure points. If nobody is coming into South Station at 2:00 pm on Tuesday but there is a group arriving at North Station around the same time, I will change the departure point.

Again, this is a free service put together by myself and a few other Enforcers for your benefit. I'm hoping to help as many people as possible but, given the logistics that this project entails, I can not promise that everyone will be accommodated. I will be checking and updating this thread as often as I can between now and Monday, at which time I will lock in the schedule and forward all traveler information onto the Ambassadors. When it gets to that point, I will no longer be able to take your information. You can still try to track down the groups on the day of departure but I can not guarantee someone will be able to guide you.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. See you all next week!

There is a strong possibility that the late-night Logan run will be split into a 9:00 and 11:00 run so stay tuned for any changes.
