GoG has Septerra Core. It's not really a JRPG but it seems to have all the trappings right down to the art style. I have no idea if it's good, and it's an older isometric style game in 2D but as you've seen, there isn't really a lot to choose from on PC in that particular style of RPG.
I highly recommend people take advantage of Direct2Drives sale at the moments. 20% Off all RPG's, meaning Magicka can be bought for 8bucks when using the code 'burnout'. And 15% Off everything else if you use the code 'goddesses'
'goddesses' doesn't seem to work for the AI War DLC

It's okay, but there is pretty much zero progression in the game and 90% of it is fight after fight and the battle system is........slow. There just isn't a way to tear through a fight, even when you vastly overpower the enemy. Hence I remember it as really grindy and never completed it. Still, I didn't hate it. I just didn't have the stamina to go on.
I've got a bad RPG itch that so far Resonance of Fate, The Last Remnant, and tales of Vesperia have all failed to scratch. Steam thread, is there anything in Newell's Chum Bucket that might entertain?
Eschalon: Book 1 and 2 are both pretty good, if you're into oldschool RPGs.
Unfortunately, most PC RPGs are wRPGs, rather than the jRPGs he mentioned. Maybe Recetter?
He just said RPG, I didn't pay attention to the ones he listed. :P And yeah, most PC RPGs are Western so good luck finding what you're looking for.

Yeah, I was looking for the more Japanese style of RPG. Blarg.
I GUESS I could give Last Remnant another shot...
GoG should pick up Anachronox. That would make some people happy, I think.
Yeah. Some cock came up with a fake leaked page featuring Anachronox as a new game for sale on GoG and people were happy and it was a topic of discussion for a bit in the GoG thread. I'm glad I've still got my disk copy, because I just don't have time to hunt a man down and kill him real good anymore.
I'm wavering pretty hard on this Portal 2 thing but I just know I'll end up buying it in a 2 pack with someone. I just can't decide when to allow my willpower to fold. I preorder basically every Valve game so I don't even know why I dance around it so much.

Well he listed some jRPG's that didn't fulfill his RPG need. So maybe western ones are what he's looking for.
My confidence in Steam Guard is wavering. Just had it detect my computer as new hardware after a hard reboot, and it went on to not accept the code that it emailed me. It worked after rebooting again, but that did not help my opinion of it.
Any chance that the Deus Ex collection will be going on sale anytime soon? I've been wanting to pick it up and missed out on the last sale, I just don't want to pay 20$ only to see it for 5$ in 2 weeks.

I'd say with DX HR on the way it's just a matter of time. How soon that is going to be is up in the air right now since there isn't any solid release info for the game.

Whatever, its beta.
To the extent that I have any particular motivation to use Steam Guard at all, I'm not touching that thing until it's out of beta and is officially a finished product.

Oh, glad to be of service. I really ought to change that back, I switched it after an odd tangent in the Dragon Age thread (go figure). Actually got somebody to buy the whole killer fractal thing for a minute, almost.

I seem to recall this being a pertinent plot point in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Now, I'm not saying that CHB is a Borg, I'm just saying that he's trying to enslave us and add our technological and genetic information to the collective.
Tricks on him though FOR WE SERVE THE NEWELL.
I figure there are reasonably good odds we could stop an alien invasion in its tracks not by force of arms or a deus ex machina virus, but simply by directing them towards Steam and letting nature take its course. They'd go from "SUBMIT OR PERISH!" to "Soooo.... when's the next sale due anyway?" in 5 minutes flat.

I haven't decided if I want to pick up the PS3 version or the PC version. On one hand, the former gets me the latter. On the other hand, I don't know if I want to wait more than the time it takes the game to unlock to start playing it on launch day.

Yeah I don't like western RPGs as a rule, something about the usual combat is kind of a turnoff for me. Especially the old school stuff; I know it's ruinous to my gamer cred but man I just can't play Planescape or BG.
Too bad the PC is... not homey for this kinda game though.

Something tells me you'd really like Anachronox. A couple of these Amazon merchants have new copies for not insane, pretty reasonable prices and they are rated 95% and over.
Check out some reviews. It's basically a great adventure game with a hilariously awesome story and pretty decent JRPG style combat. If you go for it, be sure to grab the fan patches. They fix a lot of bugs and give the game some modern features and a few more options for tweaking the game.
so about spacechem, one of my waldo's didnt want to pick up a molecule until I put in a sync command that waited for the other waldo to drop its molecule first (two different colors, two different input/output zones).
I assume you can only have one of the waldo's grabbing a molecule at the same time (i dont remember reading this in the tutorial)? or did I make my solution inefficient for another reason

Were you using Grab/Drops for both, or individual Grab and Drop instructions? If I'm not mistaken, when two waldos come across the same instruction at the same time, red executes before blue.
Just grabs for both, I thought the waldos and waldo instructions were separate (input red waldo, grab molecule in red waldo input zone). But the waldo just passes over the molecule ignoring the grab if blue waldo is already holding something.

Goozex policy is to never expect DLC codes to be valid when you get a game. It's always assumed that they've been used by the first owner. Anyone requesting it knows what they're getting into, though you could always PM the person before confirming the trade in order to be sure they know what's up.

SpaceChem is the greatest puzzle game I have ever played. Ever.
Start that game up and wonder where your time went.
Then jabber incoherently about your awesome solution to everyone through all possible channels of communication.
It's pretty fucking amazing.
I did too, and then a little while later they put up the double pack.

Then again, I guess some people just want to play the PS3 version and don't have gaming PCs.
Oh wait, you're right. I bought it in a 2 pack, so I guess I didn't buy it the moment I was able... I am ashamed and dishonoured.
