I keep daydreaming that there will be a trailer that says Half-Life 2: Episode 3 on a black background, and then it does a zoom in, and 2: Episode fades away until we're just left with Half-Life 3.
I know it's silly, but that would be pretty badass

I gotta give it to Valve, spreading out an ARG for one of their games across a million different indie games and putting them all on sale is both a great way to increase Steam sales, increase sales of those indie games, and get people pumped for whatever it is they're doing
This is almost - almost - as cool as having to dial a modem to complete the Portal 2 ARG
EDIT: WHAT THE FU
14:27: Random picture keeps popping up in various games from the potato sack.
There has also been an asset in half life 2 (from the start though) that looks like a potato or an asteroid with zits in a jar. I think you can find one in the lab on a table when you first get to the rebel's power dam base. I can't stop thinking about that thing every time the potato ARG is mentioned but it is probably unrelated.
I'm pretty sure these spell out black/white images, if I can just get the image width right...

Oh what the fuck
So people are looking for these glyphs in the games, right
Turns out someone found numbers pointing to an address which is outside the studio that developed Toki Tori, one of the games on sale
He taped himself finding a glyph outside the studio
And then in the new Defense Grid update there's a link included with the update which leads to a video of a hidden camera taping him while he is finding the glyph
Just so everyone knows, I abandoned my playthrough of halflife 2 around half way through episode 1 (several years ago). About two or three days before this whole thing started, prompted by nothing I have been able to identify, I was gripped with an urge to pick it back up and finish up ep1 and play through ep2.
They must be using their orbital mind control lasers on me.
LTTP with the HL2 gameplay being outdated thing but my views are thus:
-keep numeric health
-make the guns not feel and sound like they're shooting mud or pebbles (the exceptions being the revolver and pulse rifle)
-make reload animations not be all awkward (again, revolver and pulse rifle being examples of what is good)
-make death half-animations like in BC2, where NPCs slump before ragdolling everywhere
-I'm not really for or against iron sights. Just keep it moddable so things like SMOD can exist where I can kick manhacks and use iron sights if I really want
-DLC hats
AvP2010 aside, the Potato Sack is flat out excellent in almost every respect, and this is the first time the BBLE has been on sale at all, and it's a really fun game if you're into that sort of tabletop game.
Also this sale has given me new Blood Bowl opponents, so that's also cool.

This isn't so surprising. If you read the wiki, the dude went to the coordinates with a sack of potatoes as a gift. Didn't see anyone, so he left 'em there. When he came back, a new sack of potatoes was laying in its spot, with an arrow pointing up. That's when he found the pole.

It's a fucking Combine Advisor!!!
Which, now that I think about it, look vaguely like potatoes.

Yeah.. the reported picture has the same static as the SSTV images, which were caused by the actual sound files. I don't buy it. Too obvious for Valve.. and if Advisors were around in the time of Portal 2, then that means Gordon Freeman LOST.

Slightly off-topic I suppose, but you know what I want? I want a PC game that just lets me play warhammer and/or 40k as if I were playing it on a tabletop. Or, better yet, necromunda. I would do unspeakable things for a PC version of necromunda.
Incidentally, if any of these things exist and I have just been unable to find them, please let me know. And, no, that weird 90s version of epic doesn't count.

I know that's a typo, but it's still pretty funny.
At least one of those drawings looks like the result of the Outlaw Star knocking up the Serenity after a night of cheap fuel.
I know it's silly, but that would be pretty badass
BLAST!
Now it is permanent!
I don't have 10 friends.
It seems it was in production at some point though. http://www.moddb.com/mods/sven-co-op-ii

Oh shit. It would be weird for episode 3 to actually come out.
and yes, very interesting patch notes/updates for all of the #potatofools games.
Putting these numbers in binary gets
11111111010011011001110100110011101001010000001
and

I'm at work so I can't see it but I'm guessing that's the "I recorded my voice for all the sound effects" mod
That is correct, sir.
That dude is dedicated.
This is a sentiment I cannot get behind
