The Naked Gun is Leslie Nielsen at his absolute comic peak. It reunited him with the trio of Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker with whom he had worked with on Airplane. And it has one of the finest actors to play a villain.
So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.
And that's where the hero points come in, for those kinds of moments. But effectively these guys are brains in a jar. Their bodies are mechanical and it's public knowledge your character would know. So you don't need to feel as much need to hold back with these guys. They are effectively devices. And you have a surprise round, so free shots!
Ahh, cool. One thing I like about disintegration is how it effectively "debuffs" them up until the point where you've done lethal damage, which tied in both flavorwise to the powers and gamewise with my desire for him to be a sort of support/controller guy. He could be weakening the mechanical body to set up another character to snap them in half or whatever.
And I took Luck for those gotta-pull-it-off moments for the spare hero point just in case.
Okay, I am beat from my weekend but my homework assignment for this week is to get some darn sketches up and flesh out the Bio finally. I have a lot of little details in mind for the character, but I don't really have a "voice" for him yet. Floundering a bit there, but in terms of his power use, I really specifically like the idea of him being hands-on. Not so much just waving his hand and presto, there's a new pair of pants, but actually using Create Object to create threads with varied qualities and sort of weaving them together, then holding them up, making adjustments with Transform, and really literally molding objects with his hands as the matter becomes unstable and then "sets," like if you were working with epoxy or something. All of those little flavor details about powers will be sprinkled into downtime RPing when there aren't cyborg villains destroying buildings, though!
I picked a couple up from the library but I'm not sure I want to jump in midstream with the aliens and etc
What origin story? First you get the ring. Then you get the power. Then you get the women.
like one that is not "Green Lantern is back on Earth after the time some god took over his body or some aliens did a thing or something, now he's got a new thing to deal with here!"

So
Who wants to eat pizza with me!
I picked a couple up from the library but I'm not sure I want to jump in midstream with the aliens and etc
It's not, but I was unprepared.
I have my lunch break in about an hour. Reckon you can get here by then with pizza?
I hope you like pepperoni!
I fucking love pepperoni!
What origin story? First you get the ring. Then you get the power. Then you get the women.
well we dodged a bullet there then
No, you're thinking of green peppers.
:v:
GL Rebirth seems to be the recommend starting point for current continuity. Emerald Dawn covers the Hal Jordan origin.
like a lot of things
like pizza
like one that is not "Green Lantern is back on Earth after the time some god took over his body or some aliens did a thing or something, now he's got a new thing to deal with here!"
that has the same order for the people going as a regular round, right?
You both suck.
Yay, end of stars and civilisation!
Huzzah!
And for the down time RP stuff, I'm really relaxed about power usage.
Yes minus the villains.
Then Emerald Dawn is your best bet.

Oh god now he's talking about how all the dead stars will disintegrate and all matter in the universe will disappear.
Complete darkness and emptiness.
