Description:
El Perro del Diablo is a game I designed for a Game Design class. The assignment was to create the basic design for a game and then present the game with a gamebox (DVD cover) and a poster, targeted at potential buyers.
My idea with the game was to combine three classic puzzle and arcade games into one to create a brand new game with new strategies and goals. My game is a Tetris, Breakout and Space Invaders clone all in one. You switch modes by destroying special briscks in the different games. In story mode each level has certain objectives which you must complete to advance to the next level. For instance you may be required to make 10 rows with tetris and then blast away the remaining bricks using the two other modes. Every five levels you also meet a huge boss which you must destroy. The hellhound is of course the final boss of the game.
Everything except the barcode and PEGI ratings were created by myself from scratch using Photoshop.

1. Attract and retain your attention.
2. Describe the content inside.
This cover does neither. Yes, that wierd dog attracts my attention, but I quickly loose intrest because other than the initial shock-factor... there's nothing there.
Creativity wise, you took the easy way out. I would have looked for a way of mixing the puzzle aspect of the game with the dog element. This way you attract those ppl intrested in puzzle games!
