I've been thinking about dusting off my 65 RK, maybe getting some turbine points. What are people running these days? And what content pack unlocks them?
Lost Temple? Where's that at, for example?
If we knew, it wouldn't be Lost... (that was a good show -- up until the weak ending)
okay if the travel skills are now usable in combat, what is the point of desperate flight?
That's my point. Induction or no, most classes have enough semblance of CC to be able to use them just like Desperate Flight. How about LI bows next? That's where they're going with this, anyway. Gotta make every class teh eazy for the constant influx of lolnubs signing up these days. Before long, they'll just remove traits and stats all together. We don't need no stinkin' builds. Everyone gets 7k health and 4k power! Bows and travel skills for all! Hear ye, hear ye!
I understand hunters are extremely overpopulated on Landroval at least, and I get that they want to encourage people to roll other classes to try to balance things out. But if this keeps up for a lot longer, they'll be approaching what I consider to be neglect for those of us that chose hunters as our main back when LOTRO was still LOTRO. Invisible Bear NEVAR FORGET. :P
Also, you guys heard what's up with PSN these days? Somehow "lolSony" doesn't seem to cover it this time.
It's amazing how much an LI, even one that doesn't have the best leg's on it, can really up the power of your character.

In about 30 minutes, I am departing on a trip to Foxwoods Resort & Casino. Myself and a few friends and relatives are going to celebrate my birthday. I will be returning on Friday (which happens to be my birthday, did I mention it was my birthday?) at which point I fully expect presents, well-wishes, and possibly a parade in my honor.

See? With a little planning, you could've dropped your "f-bomb" (not to be confused with a real "F-Bomb") last night, and when the sodophiles hit you with the suspension you could be all, "Nyah Nyah, I'm going to be away for those days anyway!"
I feel like I must be pretty new, since I like all the stuff that makes you guys go 'lolnoobs'
Fog of war on maps doesn't serve any purpose at this point other than annoy alts. It's not like maps of these areas don't exist.
I agree with Scooter.
Especially since the point where each map piece shows itself can be on a delay. It's frustrating for no good reason.
It was only mildly amusing the first time I did it and even then there were some areas where it was no fun the first time. I think I can only count one zone where I enjoyed mapping it out and the novelty has worn off.
I can see fog of war for Moria, maybe, but everywhere else you'd think would be mapped out by now.

Speaking as someone with a ton of alts, I find that the "fog" is helpful, as it is an immediate reminder of whether my current character has been into a given area or still needs to go there. Also, I just don't like the trend toward "easy-fying" everything, or of making all classes able to do everything -- what makes alt-hopping interesting is that different classes require different approaches for non-trivial tasks; sure, I can kill an easy mob with my warden using only ranged attacks, but that's not a warden's purpose, and when I'm on my champ or guard (or cap, to a degree), I have to be more aware of which mobs are runners, etc.
It's also been interesting -- even if frustrating at times -- to see how different classes at the same level have an easier or harder time on a given mob or quest, and that it's not always the same class that struggles or has an easy time of it. I wouldn't want to lose that.
Finally got my comp upgraded and working again this week. Was bored and decided to resub and play eve again, but figured I'll also be downloading the hi-rez lotro client and be back sometime this weekend as well. God damned fat hobbits.

Aye, it was quite a trip. I'd never been to a casino before (much less the biggest one in the world) and it's definitely interesting. Gambling isn't really for me, it seems, but it was a fun time. And they have...amazingly-dressed women that bring you free beer whenever you want.
Vray, that rabbit is terrifying, where'd you get the avatar?
It's a Rabite from the PS2 game Maximo vs The Army of Zin. They're little bunnies that hop around playfully but if you hit one they go all demonic and start attacking you.

I got a quest in Bree-land, so now I'm running all the way there from Ered-Luin because I don't know of any other way to reach that place.

Stables would usually only help if you've been to your destination before, so yeah. Probably not many other options, unfortunately. But you'll want to make sure you're done with all your quest hubs in Ered Luin before traipsing all the way to Bree.

Super ridiculously easy method of travel from Ered Luin to Breeland.
Step 1: Travel to Thorin's Hall in Ered Luin
Step 2: Visit stable in Thorin's Hall
Step 3: Select the swift travel option to bree.
Step 4: Pay 1 silver to instantly travel to bree.
Step 5: Victory! You have reached Breeland.
Step 6: Visit the kinhall and drink from the sinister keg in celebration.

I think the Thorin's Halls/Michel Delving/Celondim/Bree fast travel routes are open from the beginning (or at least once the tutorial is completed).
I'm not sure if it's just that the late 40's are really nice to the minnie or if it just jelled with me but I am rocketing through content. Picked up two levels and two legendary traits this weekend.
I think I got lucky and got a nice damage leg on my LI. which might be making all the difference.
Anyway, on the edge of Moria right now.

Gentlemen. My dear sirs.
I need a break. I don't want to end up hating a game I've put so much time into. It's Turbine more than it is LOTRO, really.
I recently changed my credit card number due to all the lolSony shit that's gone down over the past few weeks, and my new card hasn't yet arrived. My renewal date for my active LOTRO sub was the day before yesterday (May 4th), so I figured I'd un-sub until my card got here so I could update my billing info.
Then when I logged in and was made aware of the utterly massive amount of shit that I didn't have anymore upon switching from VIP to Premium, my slight frustration with all Turbine's recent money-grubbing was turned up to 11. Call it "sweating the little things mixed with what constitutes a bad day on the bi-polar scale". Whatever it was, it hit me just the right way to send me into a big mess of ptbtthtthbtbthtblarrrggh. I went from "mildly annoyed with all the 'BUY THINGS NAO' buttons I keep getting cockslapped with" to "I need to get the fuck away from this game soon" in a very short amount of time.
I'm sorry to everyone I've aggravated/annoyed/snapped at/etc. I kept trying to force myself to stay attached to LOTRO, and in doing so, I'd helped to kill my own interest in it.
Thus, for the good of myself and all those who have to put up with my manic arse in kin chat, I'm stepping away for a bit. Having a few drinks, taking some time away from LOTRO...you gotta to what you gotta do, right?
I'm sure I won't be gone long. Just long enough until I start missing the game (as well as all you magnificent bastards that I play with). Maybe a few days. Maybe a week. I don't anticipate it should take much longer than that. After all, I've got a Lore Master to level up.

Understandable. We'll see you when you get back.

Update 3 will be reducing the amount of Superior 3rd marks it costs for a Symbol of Celembrior from 5 down to 1.
Sorry Sang.
I think my kin will make owning a 2A a raid requirement for DPS classes. I mean, 1 sup 3rd mark and some skirmish marks is super easy to get.
