This has been a problem bugging me for a while, so hopefully I can provide enough details that may lead to a solution.
Simply put, Firefox will sometimes (not always) crash unexpectedly, giving me the usual apologetic message while I reload all my tabs.
This seems to occur when I leave Firefox on for an extended period of time, as in later in the day. It seems to occur more frequently when I'm loading up images, like from 4chan or another image-heavy site. Most of the time I'll get a warning ahead of time with everything hanging up/freezing for a good minute or two before it loads. This also tends to occur when watching a streaming video like from YouTube.
I was considering doing a clean reinstall, since I have a lot of add-ons/plugins collected over the years, but that's kind of a last resort as it would take some time reinstalling my favorite add-ons. Any suggestions would be appreciated though.

It's quite possible that one or several of your add-ons are causing a memory leak or some other error leading to the crash. Might want to do that clean install, then maybe reinstall those add-ons one at a time, or research to see if any of them have caused crashing for other people.

When in doubt, clean install!
