Audio pops and crackles. (Resolved)

Sorry if this is a repeat topic, but with search down I can only look so far.

So my sound card crapped out the other day and since I had a Best Buy gift card I figured I'd head there to see if they had anything of note.

I decided to pick up this external USB sound card since the price didn't seem too bad and it looked to have some nice features.

But unfortunately I'm getting that intermittent popping sound (it happens between every 30 seconds to two minutes) that I've dealt with in the past with other sound cards, and my conclusion is that the drivers available for this thing are just ineffective, because if I uninstall them and let Windows install some default drivers on its own, it sounds fine. I've tried the drivers on the CD and the beta drivers on the site with the same issue on both.

The thing is, without the official drivers, it's essentially an expensive paperweight and I wouldn't be getting any more functionality than I would if I had bought some 20 dollar generic thing.

Right now I just have a headset connected to it, and the problem happens when I tried another headset so that's not it either.

Is there a fix of any sort anyone is aware of, or am I out of luck and I should pray they let me return it?

If it makes any difference, I'm running Vista 64 Home Premium with a Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz with 4 GB RAM, so I doubt it's a case of my system not being able to handle it, but there must be some sort of connection between my system and this thing not working right, because if it had this problem with every system then there'd probably be a lot more complaints.

    I figured I'd post my solution to this just in case someone else cares:

    Had nothing to do with the sound device, sound drivers, or video drivers. It was, in fact, my wireless network adapter drivers (for the Linksys WMP300N). Yeah, who knew?

    Anyway, I downloaded DPC Latency Checker and started disabling devices from Device Manager until the red spikes were gone. Wireless drivers were old, installed new ones. Latency is fine so far. I've seen a lot of people complain about audio pops in the past and end up blaming Realtek or Creative drivers or whatever when they may not even be the problem.

    Course, I could be repeating something said here a million times...
